Trackpad firmware update
Mine was received 40 days ago, and had no firmware update.

Before update, the touchpad was horrible.
After update, it was better, but a few bugs : fn + f9 -> f12 offbeat by a key to the left... and mostly super + arrow didn't work !
Jack Humbert did a great job reverse engineering the firmware and this unofficial firmware is better than official.

Gotta agree, it's so good that it should be factory installed, imho.

omg, just ran this update this morning and what a huge difference. The trackpad is finally usable for detailed tasks like dragging cells in spreadsheets. Huge thanks to everyone dedicating time to this effort.
This update doesn't apply to the units produced and shipped in May of 2020, correct?
it is unofficial, but everyone should apply including "step 3" for the unofficial firmware. agree it should be standard.

Forgive me, but I'm not sure I understand what you mean.  I've read the git page and applied the firmware using Manjaro.  Everything seems to be in order.  Is there an additional step that can improve performance?
step 3 applies the custom firmware, so if you have done this you are good.

Got it!  I think I was seeing your sign off, "pbp debian pbp-tools kernel hwaccel mesa kodi sway," as some sort of final step three to the custom firmware.  My mistake!

Yes.  It is a significant improvement even on the improved firmware.  Kudos to the developers!  I love my PBP.

I keep checking back for an answer to this question. I hope someone in the know will answer it at some point. Smile
pine does not install this firmware, so everyone should be doing it manually.
