I've just found the Pinebook 11,6" 1080p OS table and it says "No?" (though it hasn't been updated since December 2018).
For KDE Neon the option says "Yes?", so I'm slightly confused.
No GPU acceleration for Manjaro because mainline kernel (5.X).

So what's the solution? Go back to KDE Neon? Which kernel is required to get GPU acceleration working in Manjaro KDE?
Without GPU acceleration it's pretty much unusable for any YouTube or SMPlayer / MPV video playback, at least from what I have seen when trying with 1080p content.

The required kernel is the 3.10 which was released by allwinner with propriatory drivers and so GPU acceleration.
Neon version from pine64 or q4os are OS with this kernel.
Armbian or Manjaro are using recent kernel. The whole OS is more responsive but there is no accelaration and no video playback possibilities.
There is a open source inittiative to support mali GPU in Linux but at the moment, to young to be ready to use.

According to my Pinebook, Manjaro for the PB is using kernel 5.0.0-3
We could see the GPU support soon within Manjaro (here's hoping) since the changes you mentioned for Lima have been commited to 5.2, and I believe it was released as stable this week.

Good to know! Nearly everything out there I've read still says 5.2. Oh well, I'm sure it'll still be a while before PB Manjaro sees an update to its kernel. (Still keeping my fingers crossed, though.)

Yes, you are rigth, kernel is 5.0. I wasn't in front of my pinebook :'(
Great news for lima. Now, we have two things to test in the short futur: lima ... and the new pinebook :-D

ping Strit in the chats or ask in the manjaro forum.
[edit] looks like other users have also experienced this, but only occasionally.
