Can I use Raspberry Pi3 Power supply for Pine?
#1
Hi all,

I'm about to receive my Pine64 by this week/next week. I didnt bought the power supply by Pine64 during pledge.

But I currently have a raspberry pi 3 running and thinking I could use Pine to replace my current rasp pi.
So can I use raspberry pi 3 power supply to power up Pine64?
The power suppl y is 2.5A. And as I know Pine need 2.0A power supply.
Will it cause trouble to Pine like overload or something?

Hope you can help me.
Thanks in advance .  Big Grin

You can use the official Raspberry Pi 3 power supply, in fact it's recommended (if using a micro usb psu).

More amps is ok, problems come when using power supplies with less than 2 amps.

My RPi 3 power supply is 5.1V 2.5A.

I have directly connected to my Acer touch screen monitor (24") via USB and it works great.  I did the same with raspberry pi3. My monitor recognize my either of connected device and boots up.

Hi,

I use a RPi power supply too. It is for the Pi2 and is rated at 5V and 2Amps. It works perfectly.

I've been using a RPi power supply too and it works wonderfully. So much so that I ordered another one so I don't have to share.
