Why do this build include non-free mali driver, but mali doesn't work? Or is there any way to make it work?

This is still my favorite Linux variant for the Pinebook!

It feels fairly fast and most just seems to work!

- Suspend!
- okay browsing on chromium
-720p video play on smplayer
- Kodi seems to go as well at 720p
- librespot
- latte dock
- Remmina for remote desktop (e.g. Windows@work
- more to be added to this list

Was anyone of you able to install a LTE Stick like Huawei e398 or e3372?

I used the network manager for the APN etc. but it doesn´t work...

Hey chaps, regarding these builds - are the changes within the repository or the build files themselves? In other words, is there a script to update existing installed Neon images or do we need to fresh install upon every updated image?

EDIT: Is there also a command to fix the screen brightness if the backlight switches off? I tried - with a torch - increasing the brightness in the battery applet, but it remained off.

Yesterday evening around 23:00 I closed the lid at 96% batttery, and this morning around 09:00 when I opened it (and everything seemed to work again : ) the battery was at 94%, which looks pretty good to me \

Looks like something weird is going on with the "Dim screen" option in the Energy Saving settings. After it goes dim, it goes more dim, and then the screen goes black, as if it is switched off. It's only the screen that is off then. After the screen has switched off, CAPS lock is still on, USB stick light still burns, etc. but moving the trackpad, clicking the buttons, using the keyboard does not turn the screen on again. Putting the pinebook to suspend and back again makes the screen work again. And it looks like if you choose 5 minutes at screen dim, it dims after 2.5 minutes and goes black after 5 minutes (and stays black, untill manually suspend, resume). 

p.s. if you set the "Screen Energy Saving" to a smaller value than the "Dim screen" one, than the screen goes normally off, and can be turned on normally, e.g. by moving the trackpad.

I have been fighting with this issue since yesterday - screen locking is off, but I wasn't able to turn the screen dimming and screen energy saving off, it always reactivated itself ...

My solution is in the Per-Activity Power Management - clicking on Define a special behaviour - and checking Never shutdown the screen.

This leaves the screen always on, but the Pinebook doesn't freeze - it lasted whole night, compared to freezing every 10-20 minutes when left untouched.

Is it possible to compile this kernel or modules from source ourselves? Would like to have some drivers for usb-wifi, like ath9k or some rtl8k?-)
