I would be interested to know this, too. As time goes on, and we've done a lot on our devices (thinking in the future), it will be a huge pain to have to start from scratch every time we wanted to update. I'm not even doing that much on mine, have a few media apps installed (like Kodi and such) and then have gone through the efforts to set those up for streaming as necessary. Even doing that is 30-60 minutes of effort that would be nice not to have to bother with each time. I'm still planning a separate rooted build that I can use just for gaming, so starting from scratch and having to reinstall gaming apps and all the games would be very time consuming.
