First, you have to open the cover, which is ok. Second, you need a microscope to see which switch you need to turn off and a micro-mini-tiny-stick to actually turn it on/off.
It would be very useful if you could turn it on/off at anytime. They are off, you want to take a picture, turn it on. You want to connect the internet, turn wifi on. You are done? off. You cannot do this.
You should definitely consider Librem 5, since it has the easily accessible kill switches: https://puri.sm/products/librem-5/
Yes, maybe I should try Librem5. The price is a little too high $700 or $1900... However, how pine64 created this phone trapped me. It is still a prototype, everyone can add ideas, OSs are getting there... and I am not in a hurry. I am actually enjoying watching how this project is growing more than buying something already finished.
I can play with my PP and if it breaks it is ok, not a big loss, I get another one. Even getting one was an adventure!!
That is why I think moving the switches to a better position would multiply its power millions of times.
I see people defending the switches as they are. Wouldn't you prefer to have them more accessible? honestly. I mean, maybe if we ask, pine64 will put them outside. Or as @bcnaz suggested with a sliding door (but make buttons bigger please). My cover start cracking!

Also, from the Brave Heart picture, it looks switches were bigger than in the community edition. Can anyone compare side by side?

Hey, nice post
I read they are keeping it as it is for two reasons: One is the complexity and the second the price.
This means that if they can solve how to move the buttons out they will do it. For now, is too complicated.
I guess now is just a proof of concept. Can be done.
Next step someone has to design how to move the buttons outside. I guess easy to think, not that easy to perform.
Great discussion!
If they did move them to the outside, they may get changed by accident, and it could make it easier for moisture to get inside.... ?
