The hinges on my PBP just fell apart. I think it was like this from receiving, because the screen always rubbed/hit the body when i'd open the lid. My guess is one of them broke, then the rest couldn't hold up with one of them broken. Not until now when I inspected more closely I noticed this. You can also see the same cracks around USB ports people are having too. https://imgur.com/a/dVzYMZM

I don't think its fixable either. these hinges need a tight hold.
