Android Rooted?

How is things looking regarding root access. I really need it to get my gamingconsole up and running...

Just discuss with our Android team today, the current Android ver 5.1 can still be rooted and we will release a root image. However, on the upcoming Android ver 6, Marshmallow, the release can only be unroot version due to Google security.

Can you expand on that a little more? Based on the tiny bit of info there it sounds like when you release 6.x it will not be rooted already but will it be possible to root it or will it be locked down in some fashion?

We will release the Android ver 5 with unroot and root version. However, on the Android ver 6, we only can only release unroot build due to new firmware security binding imposed by Google.

Do you have a estimated date for the release of the rooted ver 5? Would know how long I need to wait to get this going. *feeling impatient*
