I attempted to boot mrfixit's Debian desktop from SD last night 3 times and was unsuccessful. It hung every time in early boot process. It made it to boot splash but did not make it to login. Am on trip, so unable to hook up serial cable and observe what is happening. Will take a look tomorrow.
I did successfully boot ayufan's bionic lxde image off SD the first time, using the exact same process and same hardware:
I did successfully boot ayufan's bionic lxde image off SD the first time, using the exact same process and same hardware:
- Used PBP for this process, factory installed Debian desktop
- Downloaded image to USB 3.0 hard drive
- Inserted SD card
- Verified image md5sum signature
- Burned image to SD using dd with bs=4M conv=fsync
- Rebooted PBP
