He isn't kidding. My case and zwave module arrived this week also (exactly as pictured above but NOT like the one in the shop). It remains to be seen how well it will (or will not) work, but if you trim the 2 interfering lid reinforcement ribs out with a dremel and let the lid bend the pins a little, it will go in the case. I'm disappointed, but less grumpy now that the box is closed. On to the next step...

hi greg, what I would do is to de-solder the connector from the z-wave module pcb. Then, solder a ribbon cable of what-ever-length between the module and the connector; fasten the z-wave to the case away from hand-holds with velcro stickies, and plug the connector into the board.
