there is a process known as sideload. if the ota can be released as a .zip. if it is possible to temp un-root, apply sideload, root the build once again. this is way i do it with nexus android devices.
1. acquire sideload ota.zip file
2. un-root pine64
3 apply sideload ota.zip
4. root pine64

this will work IF pine64 build can do sideload process, IF sideload ota.zip is released and IF possible to un-root/root the pine64 build. otherwise i do not see a way.
