Unable to use umlaut key combos

What keyboard layout do you have selected in settings?

There was nothing selected.

I first tried English (US), which did not help.
Then tried English Western European AltGr dead key, better.

But I now get the big Ö when expecting the lower case ö.
Gone try some other layouts before editing one.

After reading the wiki i expected this to be a hardware function to work out of the box … silly me ;-)

Try if
AltGr + 2 + a gives you ä,
AltGr + 2 + o gives you ö,
and so on.

The only thing that I don't know is how to get a sharp s.
