At least part of the issue seems to be that the mobian repo's version of gnome-control-center depends on libgnome-bg-4-1 and other packages, but the mobian repo does not supply these packages, and they have been removed from debian bookworm in favor of libgnome-bg-4-2 (and etc). Unsure if this is the underlying cause or just a symptom.
Compare http://repo.mobian.org/pool/main/g/gnome..._arm64.deb (eg. to show dependencies and note that libgnome-bg-4-1 is there, download the deb and and run dpkg-deb -I gnome-control-center_42.3-2mobian1_arm64.deb ) vs https://packages.debian.org/search?keywo...ection=all (and note it only has libgnome-bg-4-2).
I used Aptitude to workaround the issue by ignoring the missing version and install gnome-control-center anyways. It looks like it is working and functioning fine. I have not run into any issues with this workaround.
