Fedora + Phosh for PinePhone
#1
You may have seen mentions of Fedora + GNOME in the chat, or linked to from lists of PinePhone software. Although running GNOME on a phone was pretty cool, it's borderline unusable as it is. Over the last few weeks, I've been learning how to package phosh (and related apps) and finally have them ready for Fedora Rawhide!

I updated the build script to add my COPR repository and add Phosh: https://github.com/nikhiljha/pp-fedora-sdsetup
... and I finally have flashable images: https://github.com/nikhiljha/pp-fedora-s.../releases/
... if you're already running Fedora (somehow), you can also add my COPR and just install the new packages: https://copr.fedorainfracloud.org/coprs/njha/mobile/

If you're going to use the flashable image, please read the releases page carefully. It contains important information.

Things are still heavy WIP and are nowhere near as good as UBTouch or pmOS. I hope to have an image where calling and texts work out of the box soon ™.

Yup, those are the only apps that are installed by default. You can grab more from the terminal with `dnf install` (telegram-desktop and gnome-software-center are good).

(EDIT) IRC: #fedora-phone on freenode

In other news, I'm working on getting everything in the official Fedora repositories.

Just pushed a new release: https://github.com/nikhiljha/pp-fedora-s...tag/v0.0.3

Changelog
- Added a custom build of evolution-data-server with support for phone numbers (needed for Chatty, but as I don't yet have a sim card, I can't test).
- Added calls.
- Automatic modem audio switching! Incoming and outgoing phone calls (you might need to enable the modem with mmcli -em 0, once again I have no sim card)!
- Upgrade Megi's kernel
 - Now supports mobile data! Some config may be required: https://xnux.eu/devices/feature/modem-pp...-pinephone
 - Maybe some other changes, not sure.
- More fixes and stuff that I can't remember, see the git log of each of the respective packages.

Look under assets at the bottom of each release? Release 4 is the latest one, it's the file ending in .zst. Just flash that as per the instructions.

OK so I have it downloaded,

When I attempt to use Balena Etcher to flash it to an SD card,  Balena Etcher warns me this is NOT a bootable image ?
