Pine Phone cases and accessories
#1
When will we be able to purchase cases and other accessories for our Pine Phones  ?

I remember reading that the proceeds from the cases will go to the community....

The previously mentioned keyboards may be nice for some users.  ?

Some screen protectors would also be  very nice item to have.

*  I realize it may be a while but a projected estimate would be nice.

Personally I would really like a pouch type case,  that goes on the belt.

ADD :

Every 'SMART' phone I have owned so far, has wound up with a cracked or shattered screen....
It is cheaper to replace the phone than have the screen replaced..!
SO Perhaps a Screen Protector should be number one ?
Though my Iphone screen cracked even with the screen protector installed.

As far as I am aware, there are two main types of phone protection.
One can be described as a "Silicone back plus screen protector" such as this:

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Clear-Silicon...0b85053478

the other one as a "Folio booklet" such as this:

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/For-Honor-10-...kgHhZI090A

There is, howver, a third system that I really liked when I had it in the past, because it provides better protection than the first option and is less bulky than the second. I would describe it as a close fit plastic back with a thin front cover. At the moment, I am only aware of one manufacturer called MTRONX. Example:

https://www.amazon.com/iPhone-MTRONXTM-M...th=1&psc=1

Can we have this for our Pinephones, please?

A screen protector would still be nice, though.

My 'BLu' cell phone came with the silicone case you describe. It is just ok, looks fairly nice.
BUT the screen protector may be the most important single item for actually protecting your phone... ?
I do not like to put a phone into my pants pocket, and it seems to jump out of my shirt pocket.
That is why I was asking for one that attaches to the belt, you open it up and lift out your phone,
Leaving the pouch on your belt.
Some of the belt mounts have a snap cover, while some are simply like a holster.
Some are vertical like a pistol holster, some horizontal like a eyeglass holder.

Just kind of a wish list here. :-)

@Zweitaktmotor : booklet case... good info!

@bcnaz : The hostler/pouch is not bad, I had it too for a while but it has two defects:
1) it is not always possible to hook it to the clothes (it depends on the type of pants you wear)
2) Doesn't protect from impacts once you pick up the phone, sometimes it happened to me to make the phone fall once I pick it out!

1) yeah, I was thinking a loop for a belt, so that eliminates some styles of clothes.
2) Still 'may' want a soft case for drop protection.
But all the damage I have had has been from the phone jumping from my shirt pocket.. !
I have not (yet) dropped it from my hand.

We do all have different styles, besides we may want more than one style of case for casual or dress ?

I would be happy if the following accessories would exists:
1) Some type of keyboard, preferably one which can be attached in place of the back cover or a case which can also hold the phone and a keyboard and not really bigger in size
2) A screen protector which is designed specifically for this phone
3) A case - for me, preferably a Silicone back plus screen protector mentioned above

I think I never owned a phone that didn't fall off my hands! Big Grin

yes, as I said in my other post, since I have no major problems with the size, I would like a very protective case that would also act as a dockstation and stand, even the idea of the keyboard in the cover that I read in another post is nice.

And I'll tell you, I also like the idea that it is possible to cover the ports with something that slides sideways.

Maybe I'll try to make a sketch.

A slim clamshell keyboard case would be an ideal 3-in-1 solution.

I've asked Luke for the spec drawings of the PinePhone, originally for skinning purposes, but I think we could use them to help make some simple film screen protectors, too. Once Luke has drawings to share with us, I'm sure we could at least get a cut file setup to get people started off.
