Has anyone else experienced this? Note: The OpenSesame screen never shows, just power on -> green light -> no green light -> power off, then repeats until I turn off the power. From my few hours experiencing the PBP I love it, and I'd like it back
Can you try to write the image again with the next command?
sudo dd if=nameOfTheImageFile.img of=/dev/mmcblk1 status=progress
Unfortunately not, because the PBP doesn't boot ): , I think I messed up uboot. The PBP doesn't even boot from SD. Perhaps it is trying eMMC first and failing with no fallback?

Hi Wizzard, thanks for your how-to.
I'm stuck on the second step: after I finish dd LXDE image to my microsd card I insert it to PBP, boot and.... standard preinstalled Debian boots instead of written Ubuntu image. Microsd is mounted in the Debian system, but not starting on the power on.
I'm completely new to arm devices, and cannot figure out what I'm doing wrong.

Hi, have you run the Debian update script in stock image? That icon in system tray, it should update uboot to allow booting from sdcard.

I am very sorry about that, but... why exactly you burned Debian image instead of Ubuntu? That OS was already installed on emmc, so this guide was meant to install Ubuntu image...

The only reason I have is paranoia I just wanted to be sure the image was clean.

Yes, I ran the script. Today will try Mate instead of LXDE. There is almost no chance that it will change anything, but at least I try...
Heya Wizzard,
Thanks for the build and the how-to. I've been using this build for a couple of days and and it's running pretty well. I did have some issues with no audio from the browser after I initially installed it yesterday. Then I cloned mrfixit2001's github repo and ran the 1.4v of his update script and sound is now working again in the browser (firefox) .
One suggestion I would make is to remove the sound from the menu. It's pretty annoying when you're hovering over menu items and you get that "dink" sound every time. I realize this isn't your ubuntu build, but I wasn't sure where to post it.

I'm in the same place I think. I flashed the debian image and now I can't boot from the emmc. Even worse i can't boot from the sdcard unless I have switched the emmc off internally.
Current symptoms:
- With the emmc switch on I'm stuck in a boot loop with the lcd backlight and the green power LED intermittently coming on. The green power led shows a moment of read activity before shutting off and restarting.
- With the emmc switch off i can boot off an sdcard with the mate image. Unfortunately I can't access the emmc card to reflash it.
- I've tried booting the debian image from an Sd Card and doesn't even appear to power on. No power LED, No backlight. I tried the most recent 2 versions, and the same result.
I'm not sure what to do next. I could try an OTG flash of the pro but the documentation is very not done.

As for me, because I use KDE, I do not have any sounds, and I even liked those Mate sounds, but thanks for the tip anyway, it may help someone.

Seems there is some problem when we try to flash Debian on Debian and I do not understand why. Maybe @ Mrfixit2001 could help?

Sorry, if this is getting off-topic. Can you boot SD with the eMMC switched off, switch the eMMC back on, then flash the eMMC?

I would want someone familiar with the hardware to tell me that's safe first.

This thread specifically sounds like exactly what i'm going through. Having a serial cable sounds useful for debugging this. I may have to make one this weekend, but for now i'm pretty stuck.
