short boot time after power-up
#1
i use my pine a64 as a media player to stream services like netflix,...

to be able to run the netflix app, i have android 7.0 running.

after power-up, my pine takes quite a long time to get ready for operation.
is there a way to speed up the boot process?
is there a better os than android to use the pine for streaming?
is there anything else i can do to improve performance?

thanx for your help!

In short, using ayufan's android 6 will solve all the problems you mentioned.

Do note that initial boot / first boot will take a little longer. Also android performance is very dependent on how fast your SD card is.

quite strange:
i installed the version, the above link points to, but now i'm not able to install any streaming apps like netflix or so.
whatever i try to installs, google play indicates that this app is not compatible with the os version.
what's going wrong?
thanx!

No clue. Did you try sideloading ?

google updated play services last week they refined a lot of the code. you should check the build you have.

neither the mentioned version of android 6 nor the android 7.1 image i downloaded allowed to install netflix (and some other streaming apps) from google play.
so i sideloaded the netflix app to test.
then i was able to enter my netflix login data, but the pine a64 then was not able to connect to netflix... i.e. it indicated that it is connecting...forever.
