Linux Images (ROCK64)
#31
The original jessie-openmediavault-rock64-0.5.10-118-arm64.img.xz from ayufan's GitHub is microSD boot. If you are using PINE64 Installer, there are 2 versions of OMV, one is microSD and another is microSD to eMMC.

Added Community Build Jessie OpenMediaVault Linux Kernel ver 4.4 [microSD to eMMC Boot] [0.5.10-118]

Hello, this image is great, but I would like it to be the ARMHF version. Is there any way to make it or convert it from microSD boot image? thanks

There is an armhf version of the OMV image that allows you to install Plex (I'm guessing thats what you're after). Take a look in ayufan's git.

That's right, I actually tried that version in the microSD and works fine. Now I want to pass it to the EMMC and I think the easiest way is with the image SD to EMMC. In the wiki is the version for arm64, so I would need the version armhf. Thanks for the quick response

I haven't used SD->eMMC installation but it looks like modifying one of the installation images to include a different OS is pretty easy:

1) Mount linux-root
2) Navigate to /home/Rock64 directory
3) replace the existing OS image with the image you want to install (remember to rename it).

That should be all. Let me know if that does the trick.

That's what I wanted, I'll try as you say. Thank you very much for the help

I need 2 things:
1. a piclone equ for the rock64 running the aufan stretch minimal install? Or do I have to take the micro-sd to another machine to make a backup sd card?

2. Where can I find a tutorial describing how to update the u-boot kernel, or better yet, an installer that will update the actual boot to use a locally built RT kernel?

Thanks all.

Cheers, Gene Heskett

I just received my Rock64 and what to get started with Linux Mate0.5.10: jenkins-linux-build-rock-64-118, but only get a 800x600 resolution eveneven though my monitor is full hd.

Basically the MONITOR that is connected to HMDI-1 is Unknow for the image. Angry

I tried to cvt 1920 1080 60 and xrandx --newmode & --addmode but the monitor goes black when selecting this HDMI

Here a windows extract of the monitor EDID -
https://pastebin.com/Z6qMespz

Perhaps someone can help else this Rock64 will be send back next week.

For starters, try a more recent build.

Your funny ... latest stable build from wiki is 0.5.10  ... but believe me I also tried xenial-mate-rock64-0.5.15-136-arm64.img  already with no change.

The Pre-Release build like 0.6.1: jenkins-linux-build-rock-64-141 wont even boot up. So currently this is not a very good starting point for working with a Rock64. Angry
