Phone bricked after update. Won't boot
#1
Hello all,  after running the pinephonepro-post install script, I was able to update the phone with the latest repositories.  After the upgrade, i restarted my phone to make sure everything was good to go, and the phone never turned back on.  It has been completely dead since, and I have tried several of the tricks on the forum to see if I could get it to boot up.  It had about 50% power when it went down.  It was completely done with the update as well.  Not sure why a simple reboot would brick the phone.  Anyways, Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance

Try to charge the phone, maybe try a sd card with an OS flashed to it..?

Have you tried to boot on a SD card holding the RE button to bypass the eMMC? As explained here: https://wiki.pine64.org/wiki/PinePhone_P...g_the_eMMC

In particular which tricks have you tried? It'll help narrow things down.

AH  !

I have the same symptoms  ===> however my Explorer phone IS booting.

The boot indicator LED is not activating...  I posted this on the Bookworm thread.

Start with a normal 2 second power button press,  then just wait,  maybe up to 2+ minutes,

IT is Hard to just wait when you are looking at a black screen.  ===> Eventually the lock screen shows up.

IF the phone is on --- but froze from a suspend fault ---  a 12 second press on power button ---  then wait about 60 seconds for the lock screen.

A Few bugs, but over-all,   the new Explorer with Bookworm on sd card is running fairly well,
I used it to surf the forum and write a few posts a day or so back, --  I even used the cell data.

IT DOES SUCK ===>   THAT BOOT INDICATOR LIGHT IS NOT WORKING   Exclamation

Hi  @mando

Did you ever resolve this problem ?

Which operating system are you using ?

( could it be your boot indicator light is not functioning ? )
