Built-in Webcam Not Working

It seems like if the hardware switch is having issues turning back on that it is a physical hardware issue or at the very least an issue with the keyboard firmware. Changing the OS is not going to help.

Even though I don't think it's going to work I would like to help test but I can't because I can't get Android to boot off my SD card. It just goes into Manjaro every time.

(no need for a reboot when enabling webcam via the switch, /dev/video3 should show up, you can test directly with mpv /dev/video3)

I have not tried to update my firmware. Looking back at other post in this thread, it looks like a couple of them have updated their firmware without luck.

Yeah, I got the exact same message. Looks like Pine support tickets are turning into another mailing list.
The thing is, for me that's the second time they're asking me to check if the webcam works in the android image. It didn't work 36 days ago, and since they haven't done anything to fix the problem there's no reason for it to SUDDENLY start working now.

@Jazzband Were you able to get the Android image to boot? If so how did you do it? I can't get it to work and I see a thread about none of the images working.

I was, but I had to open the laptop and disable the eMMC switch (see internal layout pic, #24). After that, it'll boot just fine.

I got a replacement display panel with the integrated webcam. Swapped out the original one my unit shipped with - the one with the webcam not working.
Now I have a webcam that works.
