Keyboard/Touchpad update SH61F83 IC
#1
Hello,

My PBP has been sitting idle for a while as I've been busy with other things, blown the dust off and looking to get back into learning ARM, I want to bring the keyboard & touchpad up to date as they are sill in the original shipped state but my machine has the SH61F83 with the limited reflash capability. My machine dates from jan 2020 (date of receipt, ordered Nov 2019) Can somebody point me to the correct firmware updates and procedure since I don't have the reflashes to play with.

Thanks

Thanks, on first read i wasn't clear if that was just the trackpad update. After rereading it, it makes more sense now, I've successfully applied the update(s) and keymap corrections. From the other reading i'd done in the meantime there was one item (on Reddit I think) that implied the 8 flash limit on the SH61F83 isn't real. Is that correct or does the limit apply. Just curious for future reference.

I am also curious on this; I have an August 2022 batch PBP, and I also have the SH61F83 IC.

Has there been any more information since on the 8 flash limit? Looking up the chip information I still see 8 write cycles on it.

I would also like an update on this regarding the 8 write cycles limit. My PBP that I bought just 2 weeks ago also has the SH61F83...
I did however manage to update my firmware twice as seen in my recent post. 1st update failed and 2nd one succeeded.

Would like to try to flash custom keymap firmware as well but too scared I will reach write cycle limit.
