does the Joplin note taking app work on the PineNote?
#1
Hello dear PineNote users,

has anyone tried using Joplin on the PineNote yet? Joplin has a built in drawing function and I am curious on how that works with the stylus and the overall experience of Joplin on the PineNote.

Best regards,

Don

It seems to be an electron app by looking at the AUR package (for archlinux), and is only distributed as flatpak and snaps (officially) so I imagine it is not easily installable on Debian (but not impossible).

The web-app part of the electron app could be the same as this one, app.joplincloud.com so you can try it online.

Any luck with this yet?  I love Joplin, and I like that I can self-host it and sync across devices.  In the meantime, i've installed Iotas on the PineNote through the GNOME app installer library, and it has much of the same functionality I like about Joplin for typed notes.

In my opinion, installing PineNote will be a bit difficult, because it is distributed mainly in flatpak and snap form, which can cause difficulties when installing on PineNote's Debian operating system. Geometry Vibes

I followed the Flatpak instructions here: https://flathub.org/apps/net.cozic.joplin_desktop and it worked at the first try. When you install the flathub I add --user because otherwise the launcher does not appear on Pinenote. Sync also works. Also do not use sudo.

Hey, I was also very curious when I got to know about this, but Joplin's tool is generally used with a stylus or touchscreen; it allows users to create and edit drawings. My overall experience was good. Here below are some simple features about Joplin on the PineNote:
1. It has a drawing tool.
2. You can use it via plugging it into a desktop or on mobile apps; this is basically called freehand drawing.
3. PineNote is Linux-based with e-ink.
Hope it will help.
