I was able to receive call and after building a small apache website on it i thought it was time to try to boot from the emmc. By the way I was able to do this with all the information the community shares. So credits to all of you!
Anyhow I did something terribly wrong with the learning about dd

Hello fellow Pine'ers
I realize development is fast paced with UBPorts Ubuntu Touch.
Pretty sure our enthusiastic community would prefer [rolling release] updates model.
Something like Arch Linux does. I know for sure I would like that.

| KISS Linux for Pinebook Pro |

I've built a version of KISS Linux for aarch64, available here: https://github.com/jedavies-dev/kiss-aarch64
For information on KISS Linux please see the main distro page: https://k1ss.org
KISS Linux is x86_64 only. However I wanted to run this on the Pinebook Pro, so have built an aarch64 version. I'm posting this here in case anyone else is interested and to get feedback. Have been using this on my PBP for about a month so far.
Please note that this is a work in progress. For now I only provide a root tarball (same as x86_64) so you must install this from another distro using a chroot. For example you can install KISS onto an SD card by booting into the default Debian running on the eMMC drive. I may also provide a bootable .img file in future though.
Please note that this is an unofficial port of KISS Linux and is not supported by Dylan Araps (the creator of KISS Linux). However I also sometimes hang around in #kisslinux on Freenode if you have questions.
Thanks,
James

Hey guys,
Has anyone used qemu to run windows xp on their pinebook pro? I have installed winxp and aoe1 so far, it is running sluggish. Since it's a different CPU, I can't accelerate it via KVM. I also don't have sound working yet. I did compile qemu from source, I didn't try the binaries from the Manjaro package manager.
Any help would be awesome, thanks

Just got a new battery for the fun of it, and to have a spare. Basically I just got the cheapest one from the local ebay resellers (under Au$ 14).
listed as an "EB-BJ700BBC".
Seems to work quite well, only problem was that it a had two small plastic nubs at the bottom (i think they must fit into some positioning holes on the inteded handset) which stopped it from fitting. After I filed those off it it just drops in and seems quite tight.
Who knows how it will perform, but the form factor is right.

With the upcoming release of the pinephone, I think it is a good priority to make the store ui a bit more user friendly, as there will hopefully be an influx of new users/buyers.
Just something as simple as tabs with the categories --rather than a list you have to scroll through for a minute or two-- would be fine.
Sincerely,
--a concerned noob.
Some tabs that I think would be useful in addition to the existing categories would be 'accessories', 'upgrades', and maybe even 'adapters'.

Hey guys, IDK if this has been answered, trying to find out:
1) when I can order a PineBook Pro?
2) what additional hardware would you suggest I order for it?
3) Do you ship to Canada?
Thanks for any input, if this has been answered elsewhere I apologise, and a link that answers these questions is just fine as well.
