connector type SPDIF FAN RTC battery?
Posted by: ChriChri - 03-12-2020, 04:15 PM - Forum: RockPro64 Hardware and Accessories - Replies (4)

I'm trying to find a plug for the SPDIF connector, but didn't find any information about it's type/name.

Does anybody know what I'd have to search for if I'd want to find a plug that fits?

Rainbow Lithium battery temperature readout?
Posted by: GregH - 03-12-2020, 12:05 AM - Forum: Lithium and RTC Ports - No Replies

Loving the Pine A64 LTS so far. The integrated lithium battery management is great.

I'm running Armbian Buster, and browsing through the data I can see most of what I'd like to see except the battery temperature

Code:
/sys/class/power_supply/axp20x-battery/

Is there a way to read the battery temperature?

Photo LTS will not boot with 7" LCD connected
Posted by: GregH - 03-11-2020, 09:49 PM - Forum: P64-LTS / SOPINE Hardware, Accessories and POT - Replies (6)

Just received my A64 LTS with Playbox and 7" LCD from Pine after many delays (another story). Very excited!

My LTS boots fine (eMMC) with Armbian Buster and an HDMI monitor connected. I'm powering via the supplied 5V/3A barrel connector ps. However with the LCD DSI cable attached, the LTS will not boot - the green power light comes on, dims slightly, then goes out after a couple of seconds.

It seems I'm not the only one with this issue:
https://forum.armbian.com/topic/8392-pin...ment-95229

Quote:After plugging everything together I inserted the DC barrel jack (original 5V 3A power supply) and then the LED goes on only for 1-2 seconds and then goes off.

Does this seem like a hardware issue? On that discussion, someone mentioned a similar issue until they used a swapped out the A64 board.

  Could the display be replaced/upgraded?
Posted by: Ilia3101 - 03-11-2020, 03:30 PM - Forum: General Discussion on Pinebook Pro - Replies (4)

I've been wishing for a better display on the pinebook pro, something with better colour. Is a display upgrade possible? What are the requirements for a panel to be compatible?

I saw a thread about display upgrades on the normal pinebook, but no results were posted by anyone.

  PineTab beta/early adopter?

I'm not much of a software developer, but I know my way around most versions of *nix. I have used several different SBCs for various projects. My employer uses my python powered raspberry pi timeclocks to this day, going on 5 years now. I have a couple of BBBs and am working on a 4 channel temperature sensing cape I designed in KiCAD and had the boards fabricated by OSHPark. I liked my C.H.I.P until it, with the company, died. I even have an Orange Pi PC. I am good at soldering and own a variety of equipment.

I work full time as a Linux sysadmin at an ISP and use Linux and BSD extensively in my daily life. I have various desktops, laptops, and android tablets(stock is not an option).

I am currently RHCE, CCNA, and LPIC-303 certified with an active amateur radio license (Extra class + VE) and Mensa member.

I'd love to contribute in any way I can to the PineTab and plan to grab a Pinebook Pro once I am able.

  Pinebook Pro for sale (US)
Posted by: tomfowler - 03-11-2020, 02:38 PM - Forum: General Discussion on Pinebook Pro - Replies (5)

What a great device.  Very solid build, great community and a awesome price.  Battery life is just amazing.  But, it just doesn't match my needs.  I do NOT want to put it on the popular auction site because I'm not looking to make a buck off the supply constraints.  What I do want to do is offer it back to the community at my cost for someone who can truly add value and develop more software for this little gem.

I'm offering my January version Pinebook Pro, 64GB model with power supply and the optional NVMe adapter for $210.  Buyer pays shipping of choice (I can do USPS, FedEx or UPS).  I did take the back off once to look at how to install the NVMe adapter, but ultimately did not since I don't have a drive to put in it right now.  The way you install the adapter is to install the drive in the adapter and then install the adapter in the computer.  The adapter looks like the original one, but has the half-height NVMe retaining nut.  Pine64 assured me it would work in my laptop.

I'll have some pictures up tomorrow, maybe tonight if I can figure it out and have the time (my daughter's fish tank developed a crack today and I'm taking a break in doing a fish move - ugh!).  It doesn't have any real blemishes.  I've only had it for 2 months.  I'll need to clean off the fingerprints before I shoot it Smile  Never been dropped or abused.

This is a great machine at a great price.  I'm just not a developer and am more of a mainstream kinda guy.  I want this to go to a community that will appreciate it and use it to make the community better.

First person to respond has dibs.

How do you prevent the battery from discharging when the phone is off?

Seems like the battery discharges when the phone is off.
How do you prevent this?

  eMMC question
Posted by: __alec - 03-11-2020, 10:07 AM - Forum: General - Replies (1)

A year ago, I bought a Rock64 with a 64GB FORESEE eMMC. The Rock64 works great, and I want to buy another one (or maybe RockPro64).

But I didn't like the experience with the eMMC, and I'm considering the options.

When I initially set it up, it caused tons of errors until I found somewhere to build the dtb with max-frequency decreased to 150000000. This resolved the issue, but left me a bit concerned. It looks like others had similar issues as well.

I was researching whether it was possible to use the odroid emmc module, and then I found that on the Rock64 Wiki it lists datasheets of eMMC modules from other vendors:

Quote:eMMC information:

Does that mean that not all the eMMC modules are FORESEE? Is it possible to get a SanDisk or a Hynix one?

Lightbulb Are you like me and can never remember the privacy keys?
Posted by: jabo - 03-11-2020, 09:34 AM - Forum: General Discussion on Pinebook Pro - Replies (2)

I can never remember which keys disabled what. So I used our label printer to print out icons for a "patch panel" on 1/4" black on yellow vinyl. Since space is tight on 1/4" labels icons were used. The phone means microphone (also F10 is directly under the right mic) the triangle has what looks like a wifi signal for F11 and for F12 is a video camera icon for you guessed it the camera. Smile

Next to the lights I made another "sticker" to let me know 2 blinks is enabled. Cause I can never remember that either.

Now I can't not remember! Sometimes my genius knows no bounds.
