So after waiting months for the pinetab to be available again, I saw yesterday, that it's available and put in in my shopping cart. I was on road and the website said, the item will be hold for 12 hours. When I arrived home, I wanted to complete my order. But suddenly, my shopping cart said, the item is no longer in stock.
So that means, the item is not hold for you and can be "stolen" from your cart.
That is so disappointing... Is there a way to get a notification on availability next time or is there a time frame known yet?
Thanks!

I'm thinking of buying a Pinephone from my friend instead of ordering directly as it's more comfortable for me. Since it's a second-hand phone, what are the thing I should check\care before buying it? Is there something like reset /restore I should do to get it factory version?

Since i received my Manjaro CE Convergence model it doesn't matter how many times i reflash to different releases I never have any apps that generate in the "Explore" tab of the software store. It is always blank. I can search apps and it finds them but it does not populate any for me to scroll through. The first time i open the software store after a fresh reflash i get an "unexpected system error" warning at the top of the screen. I have seen many videos of everyones software store populating apps so its starting to get frustrating. Any tips are appreciated in advance! This is running Phosh Beta2

| Can internal PinePhone firmware be compromised? |

Perhaps a stupid question. Is there any firmware in PinePhone which could be compromised by the OS? For example, I heard that a compromised OS on a laptop can compromise BIOS, which makes the computer insecure without recurse (and you won't know it unless you have Anti Evil Maid).
Let's say I install some untrusted OS on the eMMC, use it, then wipe it. After that I boot from a trusted microSD, can I be sure that I am not compromised?
I am also thinking about such a use case: I have untrusted OS on the eMMC, where I collect all the viruses I want. When I need to do something security-critical (e.g., open my email), I insert a microSD with a bootable trusted OS, use it and then remove the microSD again returning to the initial untrusted OS. Would such access to the email be secure?

Hello everybody,
today I have received the clear soft PinePhone case that I have ordered from the pine64 store (yes - this is the phone case that is a part of the "reduce digital gap" donation program).
I quickly unpacked the case, and tried it with my PinePhone (a recently delivered PinePhone CE), I must say that I am very impressed.
A few highlights:
* Material quality is very good (similar to an expensive brand case that I used to have for an iPhone not to long ago)
* The fit is perfect, fits the PinePhone perfectly, not too tight and not too flimsy (so it grabs the phone, but easy to remove if needed)
* The cutouts made in the case for the various buttons, headphone jack, usb-c outlet, speakers, camera etc.. are all perfectly aligned with the PinePhone's peripherals.
* The cutout for the camera at the back of the case is well designed, and the case back is thick enough so that when you place the PinePhone on a table (for an example), the camera lens/glass will not be scratched.
* The case sides, on the upper edge, are slightly raised above the screen, so the PinePhone's edges are correctly covered and protected.
* The inside back of the case has those tiny elevated dots, so the PinePhone's back cover incl. the Manjaro logo and slogen are nicely visible without any air bubbles etc..
If anyone like the soft type (TPU type) clear cases, I gladly recommend it

| Building a new cluster with external storage |

Hi,
I am contemplating building a new cluster and one of the questions I have asked myself is wether it would be better to boot all modules from a central server and rund them sort of "diskless" as I intend to build them into a K3S cluster anyway.
I could not find any clear reference to how this would need to be setup. I am not rookie as far as Linux is concerned. And at some point I have setup network boot with Sparc 4 hardware with RARP and TFTP. But I could not find a clear reference wether the sopine can do a net boot and what is required for it.
So if someone can show me pointers to information I might have missed out I can dig into it and see if I can work out a plan before I go and order things.
Regards, Hugo.
PS: I'll do my best to document all my steps online once I get going.
