I finally got openvpn to work with my config file. There is a lack of network management settings currently. I was wondering how to get openvpn to start and connect to vpn server at boot, and if there is network lock? to prevent connection without vpn.

I got the dock that came with the phone. It charges but there is no HDMI output and my connected keyboard is not working.

Does Manjaro support the dock right now? If not I'll have to use another OS. I tried to search for dock support but I couldn't construct a good enough search term to find anything useful.

I received a pinecil from the latest batch today - sadly it only worked 2 times - once plugged into 20v via DC jack. The other time in a QC3 usb-c socket with a negotiated voltage of 15v.


During heating of a D24 TS-100 tip 8.Ohm@15V via usb-c the OLED screen froze and the buttons became unresponsive. After unplugging and reconnecting the pinecil the screen stayed off. The DFU mode also does not trigger. The pinecil does not show up as a USB device.

Further investigation resulted in the following: the pinecil when supplied with power via USB-c will consume about 120mA. A visual inspection of the pinecils board does not show any obvious damage or soldering faults.  The DC-DC converter (U8) on the board gets hot. The 3v3 regulator (U5) also gets hot. The 5v rail voltage is at ~4.0v. The 3.3v rail appears to be shorted to ground.

A cracked smd cap would explain this short very handily and this matches the accounts of a couple of other posts i saw in here. I already made a ticket in the pine64 system.

A couple days ago, my Android phone has completely stopped working. I want to order PinePhone but the beta edition doesn't ship to Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. There have been some issues in customs as the blog posts say.

I wanted to know when the Indian shipping would start? I really don't want to buy Androids anymore as I'm a staunch Free Software supporter.

I have bought Olimex boards in past and they have been shipped to me without issues with DHL. India-China relations had a few issues in past but currently, things are much better. If I know the specific issue, maybe I can put a word around the customs people to explain Free Software and how PinePhone is 1000x better than Androids for India.

I can wait for some time but not much!

Finally received it today, attempting to boot it up but despite having it on charge for at least an hour it still refuses to boot, though maybe it was expecting a micro SD card so I popped a 64GB one in, still no go, I do have a tesco sim card in there, would that cause it not to boot?

Edit: Just took out both and now it is booting

Edit 2: Still black screen with just the mouse cursor, does it really take this long to boot or did it perhaps expect something else I wasn't aware of, the booklet that came with indicates it should already have an OS via a built-in memory

Edit 3: With the help of Jumpdrive I finally got it to boot, still struggling to find the list of bootable OS's and links to their images though, someone mind pointing me in the right direction?

I made two separate orders at the same time. One for the pine phone case and screen-cover and one for the pine phone itself.

In both instances I got two emails with the exact same contents saying my order was complete. 4 emails total. A duplicate with each one.
With the case I got detailed tracking and could see it travel through china, to the plane and see when it landed in America where I am.

On the pine-phone All I've gotten is a (Label created near where I live ) when I click on the tracking number and its been there for 2 weeks.

Settings -> Screen writes incorrect values to /.config/powermanagementprofilesrc file.

Does anyone else have the issue of, or does someone have a solution for, ghosting lines on the PineTab screen? 

One day I turned it on and there is a section of the screen where short lines move across the display, and really ruin the visibility/experience. 

I've hit it with a hammer, that didn't work. What else can I try?

i received my pinephone yesterday (manjaro-arm) and followed instructions for removing plastic between battery and contact. it seemed to be behaving normally while charging via usb other than the battery charge not getting past 90% and then moving backwards!? this morning i started the phone on battery power alone and it turns on, shows the gear and the K logo and then goes dark. when i make contact with the screen, i can see the numerical pad but as soon as i break contact with the screen it goes dark again. everything works normally once i connect the usb power cable. energy settings are on 'never' for lock screen and sleep and 5 minutes for turn off screen. any input would be appreciated, thanks.
