Screen off = dead phone (Generalized) - User 22437 - 05-26-2021

My device is a PinePhone Beta Edition. On every distro I tried, whenever I turn the screen off, it will not wake up again (the screen flickers and then goes permanently black), and I have to hold the power button for 10 seconds and boot it back up again.

Below is the list of distros I tried:

- ArchLinuxARM/Phosh, with DRAM underclocked
- Manjaro/Plasma Mobile
- Manjaro/Phosh
- Mobian/Phosh
- Ubuntu Touch/Lomiri, channel KernelUpgrade

So the problem seems hardware-related.

Also, when the power key was pressed, journalctl reports "unable to get EDID for xrandr-DSI-1: unable to get EDID for output" on Phosh, but nothing on Plasma Mobile.

Is this a known issue? Is there a workaround?

Thanks!
