Problems with Pinephone camera ov5640

Hello, I try to make the ov5640 camera working...
Problem: no autofocus function because ov5640_af.bin seems not to work with the ov5640 camera modul installed.
I ordered another ov5640 camera modul from pinephone and replaced it with the one installed. Same result: no function.
So I think it is not a problem with hardware instead of software.
My question: Is there a way to get a ov5640_af.bin from the vendor of the 0v5640 camera modul?
Is it possible to get the source of ov5640_af.bin?
Is it possible to replace the camera modul with ov5647 or a successor of ov5640?
Thank you in advance
greetings

WiFi fun on a new PinePhone

New PinePhone user here... and honestly a relatively new linux user as well.
my wifi network has a hidden SSID and uses MAC Whitelists, so I need to get the MAC address for my phone.... and I need to be certain it doesn't change/randomize.
Some preliminary searching lead me to believe that an "ifconfig -a" would reveal the MAC address (found it odd it couldn't be retrieved in the settings).... however, imagine my surprise when i opened the terminal, executed the command, and received the following error... "bash: ifconfig: command not found"
This lead to learning that manjaro uses "ip addr"... having deprecated ifconfig and other network related tools.
So I got my wwan0 MAC, added it to the routers whitelist, and setup the hidden wifi connection in the settings of the phone. The router supports 5G and 2.4G connections, and I think I learned quickly that 5G is not an option for the Pinephone.... refused to connect or show any signs of success.
2.4G doesn't connect either, but it does get farther. It actually takes me to a screen where it prompts me for the networks "password" which I thought was odd because I entered it with the wifi setup.... so i type it in again (in cased it's important, the password is 12 digits long) and the connection fails and prompts me again for the password.
I get notifications like... "wlan0: No secrets were provided" and "wlan0: The Wifi network could not be found"
Hmm, interesting, looks like i got the networks backwards... so I added the MAC for the wlan0 to routers Whitelist instead... and boom, the phone connected to wifi!
So for my final check, I restarted the phone and was pleasantly rewarded with a successful connection to the wifi network... meaning the MAC is't randomizing on reboot/reconnect... perfect!
Man... this is going to be fun... I wanted to cut my teeth on linux for privacy reasons... and I figured once I got a bit comfortable with it on the PinePhone I'd pave over win10 on my PC with Linux as well.

new PinePhone... dead pixel?

Hello, new PinePhone user here with a quick question after unboxing and turning on my phone.
Do we have any warranty on dead pixels on new PinePhones?
It's just one pixel, but it vertically almost right in the middle, although horizontally shifted to the left of center.... so it's in a really obvious place. If it was off to the edge, i wouldn't be as concerned.

Other boot options than Sdcard for linux 5.x kernel?

Hi,
I would like to use my Rockpro64 as a dockerplatform. Due to compatibility reasons I would like to use a 5.x linux kernel, and for reliability reasons I would like to boot from something else than a SDCard.
So far I tried booting Armbian from eMMC, USB and NVMe but nothing worked. I'm using the uboot posted here:
https://github.com/sigmaris/u-boot/relea...ckpro64-ci
I tried a few others like debian as well, but nothing on 5.x kernel seems to work. From SDCard they all seem to work fine.
Could anyone point me to a possible solution?
Best regards,
MrA

Pinebook Pro not powering on when eMMC hardware switch is off

Hi All,
I'm currently having an issue booting my Pinebook Pro.
I tried to flash an image of TwisterOS on the eMMC but I don't believe that was done correctly.
I searched the forum and find that is possible to perform a reset option by forcing the Pine to baypass the eMMC deactivating it with the hardware switch on the SoC board.
When I'm doing that the Pinebook won't power on at all, is that anything wrong there?
If I remove the eMMC from the slot it's not working either.
Anybody able to help?
Thanks in advance!

Pathway to for Apps to Unstable and Stable Repositories

I have looked over the wiki and have not found an answer to the process to get an app submitted and included in unstable with a pathway to stable.
there is the wishlist in the wiki,
https://wiki.mobian-project.org/doku.php?id=wishlist
but that is simply a page anyone can submit a source link and some comments.
For example, there is a Pinephone native app called compass which is being tested on other pine compatible OSs and has been tested in Mobian as well
https://gitlab.com/lgtrombetta/pinephone.../releases/
How are apps like this built by community members nominated for inclusion?
Back in the Maemo(Nokia n900 and linux mini tablets) days there were apps which could submitted to the contrib repo as well as a stable unstable and testing repo as well as a nokia app store repo. They all built from source on a repo autobuilder and it was mostly a community effort with little Nokia involvement until they handed everything to the Maemo community when they exited the mobile Linux space.
At this point I would understand that the effort is to be first with a daily driver means that system and core apps are the focus secondary apps are not a priority; the wishlist might be the one nomination space, but official confirmation would be nice

printing -- Manjaro ARM KDE plasma

Hi y'all.
Has anyone managed to set up a printer with KDE plasma?
I have a standard Brother duplex that works fine with an X86 Ubuntu laptop. I've tried all the fixes mentioned here and there in the forum and can't get further than "receiving data" on the printer's led. It seems we are nearing the end of the CUPS era, but it still functions for Arch & Manjaro (not ARM) users. Where is the "cups-daemon, cups-browsed," etc.?
There must be a simple way to print to a standard printer from Manjaro ARM KDE.
Any clues would be appreciated. I'm loving the PBP so far, especially the Falkon browser. I dumped Firefox (too bloated for my needs) but kept Chromium as a back up.
Thanks
