  Phosh Menu and Lockscreen Icons
Posted by: d0n601 - 08-04-2021, 04:43 PM - Forum: Arch Linux on PinePhone - Replies (2)

Can anyone point me towards the documentation on Phosh's lock screen and menu icons?

I like the icons that Manjaro Phosh is using for service indicator, battery, wifi, etc, a bit more than the default I've seen used by Arch and Mobian. I'm trying to get my Arch installation all buttoned up as a daily driver and this is one of the last (I'll be it very minor) things I'm trying to configure Smile

Thanks!

  PineTime suitable for wake-up alarms?
Posted by: hadfg - 08-04-2021, 03:41 PM - Forum: General Discussion on PineTime - Replies (2)

Hey all,

Playing with the thought to buy one, I wondered whether the PineTime is currently capable of waking you up via vibration -- presumably by notifying you about an alarm going off on your smartphone over a companion app, as this thread states an alarm app is to be developed.
Planning to use a PineTime with InfiniTime and Gadgetbridge as companion app, but did only find implicit statements for and against said capability.

Grateful for any answer Smile

Cheers

How would I go about compiling GNUzilla/Icecat from source on the Pine H64 on Manjaro ARM?

  Debug receiving sms
Posted by: olesendan - 08-04-2021, 11:06 AM - Forum: Arch Linux on PinePhone - Replies (2)

Hi.

My phone have stopped receiving sam's. From what I recall it stopped at the end of may.

I can make calls, and send sms's, but not receive sms.

I've tried to reinstall modemmanager and chatty.

I've never really debugged before, so would appreciate if someone could point me in a direction regarding how to debug.

Greetings from Denmark
Dan

  Fan doesn't spin
Posted by: captainmorgan - 08-04-2021, 08:34 AM - Forum: General Discussion on ROCKPRO64 - Replies (2)

I bought 2 pin fan and connected it to the fan header on the RockPro64 board. Installed OMV on the MMC, it boots up fine but the fan doesn't spin. Did I buy a broken fan/board or do I need to flick a switch somewhere?

  using Pure Maps
Posted by: Uturn - 08-04-2021, 12:47 AM - Forum: Sxmo on PinePhone - Replies (17)

I installed puremaps. However it will not display the default Mapbox maps, but I can display OpenCycleMaps. Navigation fails however, as does location: No reaction on the auto centering button. After initialization, puermaps shows a blank screen as the default map does not display. When switching from offline to mixed profile, message is: loading style failed: HTTP status code 401. If I switch map to OpenCycleMaps, this map will display but no location nor routing will work.
What could be wrong here?
Should I install OSM Scout Server, too - and whalt would be the package name in apk?

  Encrypted ZFS as root filesystem
Posted by: 3939 - 08-03-2021, 01:37 PM - Forum: Mobian on PinePhone - No Replies

Hello!

I love ZFS and all of it's features, so much so that I practically use it on everything I own, in some form or another.
Snapshots, compression, encryption and replication are some really great features that no other file system has (ignoring btrfs, because that one lacks RAID support for reliable backups).

I wanted to use it as a root filesystem for my pinephone, since Debian allows you to use it as root filesystem just fine.
I got it installed using DMKS, set up a zpool on a partition next to boot, edited the kernel parameters (root=ZFS=rpool) and it boots up just fine (did not expect that to be honest).

Now, my issue lies with encryption and the initrd.
If I use cryptsetup for encryption, I get an error that my zpool can't be found (makes sense - cryptsetup has to load the device first, but it seems ZFS tries to load the pool before asking for the password).
And if I use zfs native encryption, I get prompted for the password, but no on screen keyboard is displayed...

So, it seems like an issue in the initrd. Has anyone gotten something likes this to work already?

Network stacks no longer works on PBP - all distros
Posted by: IT-That-uses-Linux - 08-03-2021, 01:15 PM - Forum: Linux on Pinebook Pro - No Replies

https://wiki.pine64.org/wiki/Pinebook_Pr...iFi_issues

Looking at that guide here and following it, I have been unable to get my wifi card working at all, So I attempted to use a usb-to-Ethernet adapter with the same issue issues as the wifi.

The only thing that shows up from ip addr is the loopback interface. Thought it was the image so I used Balena etcher to re-setup the flash drive, no dice same issue. So I tried two other Distro's other than Manjaro (ubuntu and fedora) same problem. i also tried moving back to the 64gb module with no luck as well.

I am currently booting from a USB flash drive as i just swapped out to the 128gb eMMC module and have not installed an OS on it yet.

Is networking disabled via booting from the USB2.0 port?

  SSH not working
Posted by: ragreenburg - 08-03-2021, 11:01 AM - Forum: Mobian on PinePhone - Replies (6)

I've enabled ssh and gone into my sharing folder and enabled that as well and running

Code:
ssh mobian.local
lets me ssh into my phone from my phone (pretty useless) but trying through my terminal and through Putty I haven't been able to connect to the phone through SSH. It seems to time out every time. Anyone else having this problem?

Which interface was pre-installed on the PinePhone CE: Manjaro?
Posted by: amosbatto - 08-03-2021, 10:54 AM - Forum: General Discussion on PinePhone - Replies (4)

I noticed on the Wikipedia page for the PinePhone, that there is some dispute over whether the PinePhone Community Edition: Manjaro had Phosh or Plasma Mobile preinstalled. The problem is that neither of the press releases by PINE64 and Manjaro say which interface was pre-installed. I can find one review on YouTube of that model which shows it running Phosh, but I don't know whether the reviewer installed Phosh or not.

Did anyone here buy that model and which interface did it have preinstalled?
