reduce Phosh bottom bar to corner icon?

So Plasma isn't stable enough to use IMHO, but Phosh is unusable for me because I have big fingers and I hit the bottom bar like every 3rd word. Plus, why should it take up so much of my screen? Can I please have some way to make that bottom bar for returning to the app menu just a corne icon? Pleeeease let there be a way.

Hello all
I'm impressed with the ability to wake up from suspend/crust when a phone call or text comes in. But this won't work for email.
I'm looking for the best way to have the PinePhone wake up every 30 minutes, check email/matrix/signal/etc, then go back to sleep.
I've had some luck with systemd timers, but I haven't been able to work this into a complete solution. I'll stop here for brevity and post another post with more info on my partial solution.
Thank you
[EDIT 2022/05/24:] I did eventually get a hackish version of this to work. See post number https://forum.pine64.org/showthread.php?...0#pid98450 for how I did it.

Hi, I ordered a Pinephone on July 23 and I was wondering when I would receive tracking or an estimate on how long it takes to arrive. I've ordered one before from you guys but i forget how long the process takes.
The reason i ask is because I received a text from what I perceive as spam because it claimed to be associated with DHL but the link it gave me was from a weird website that did not include dhl.com, and it was also created less than 24's since it was sent.
Anyway's any input is appreciated.

I am not making this up. I pressed the ESC, shift control, alt, buttons while booting up the pinebook pro via SD card and on the display a red skull and crossbones appeared. I might not remember the correct sequence of keys because it was about three weeks ago. I think is some kind of kill feature written in the code. Anyone know about this?

[Phosh] Remapping keys of an external keyboard

I recently bought a no-brand foldable Bluetooth keyboard (picture) for use with my PinePhone (running Mobian). The basic keys work fine, and I got deadkeys/lv3/compose to work by firing up dconf-editor and editing /org/gnome/desktop/input-sources/sources and /org/gnome/desktop/input-sources/xkb-options.
Unfortunately, though, some of the special keys don't work as expected. Fn+[top row keys] always produces the keysym of the "upper" blue function instead of the "lower" one, e.g. Fn+` produces XF86HomePage instead of Escape, and similar for the other top-row keys. wev reveals that Fn+` produces keycode 180, and indeed, in the output of xkbcomp, I see:
Code: key <I180> { [ XF86HomePage ]
I changed XF86HomePage to Escape and tried to reinsert the keymap with xkbcomp, but some searching reveals that this is not possible on Wayland. So I instead added
Code: key <I180> { [ Escape, XF86HomePage ] };
to the intl section in /usr/share/X11/xkb/symbols/us and rebooted. But this did not remap the key; rather, the xkbcomp output now shows
Code: key <I180> { [ XF86HomePage, XF86HomePage ] };
I guess something is overriding the change, but I don't know what exactly, or even how to find out. I'm unfamiliar with the whole Wayland/GNOME/Phosh stack (I've never had a need for anything other than X11), so I feel like I'm really out of my depth here. Does anyone know how to proceed with this?

Hi All,
I changed my password to something containing letters and numbers on my pinephone community KDE.
But the login screen only has numbers.
How do I change it from my PC over USB?

Upgraded Modem Failing To Register On UBPorts Edition

I ordered an upgrade board to swap into a UBPorts edition I have. Swap was successful and the phone could detect all hardware when using factory test but I experienced odd behavior when I put a SIM in it.
The phone would detect the SIM was inserted and even show signal strength and type ("bar meter" and 2G/3G/4G notifications in top left of phosh) but the modem would never register with the network. Specifically the modem details would show signal type as "lte" and provide a signal strength metric but the network status would be "unregistered."
I swapped the 2GB ram board back in and the phone works now...
Really at a loss here, has anyone ever seen this behavior? Was I supposed to do something with the modem after swapping the board in? I was so close to USB-C!!!
Some things: - No, the SIM doesn't have a pin
- Yes, the SIM is activated
- SIM is an AT&T BYOD straight talk
