Hello!
I've seen a couple of threads asking how to get the AW-CM256SM combo wifi/bluetooth module working, but I haven't seen any conclusive cases of a user getting it running yet. I'm in the same boat myself, but I think I'm making progress towards it.
I'm using Manjaro for ARM, the image specifically for the RockPro64. I installed brcmfmac from the Arch repositories using yay, as I believe that's the correct driver for the module.
"dmesg | grep SDIO" gives me this: "[ 2.172676] mmc0: new ultra high speed SDF104 SDIO card at address 0001"
"dmesg | grep brcmfmac" returns the following:
[ 8.602310] brcmfmac: brcmf_fw_alloc_request: using brcm/brcmfmac43455-sdio for chip BCM4345/6
[ 8.602862] usbcore: registered new interface driver brcmfmac
[ 8.605626] brcmfmac mmc0:0001:1: Direct firmware load for brcm/brcmfmac43455-sdio.pine64,rockpro64-v2.1.bi
n failed with error -2
[ 8.614427] brcmfmac mmc0:0001:1: Direct firmware load for brcm/brcmfmac43455-sdio.pine64,rockpro64-v2.1.tx
t failed with error -2
[ 8.614570] brcmfmac mmc0:0001:1: Direct firmware load for brcm/brcmfmac43455-sdio.txt failed with error -2
[ 9.641432] brcmfmac: brcmf_sdio_htclk: HT Avail timeout (1000000): clkctl 0x50
If I am understanding correctly then, the module is being detected on mmc0, and I do have the driver installed, but something isn't configured correctly. Any ideas on what I need to do next?
Thanks in advance!

PSA: The LoRa PinePhone Case seems to drain battery even when shutdown |

The thin black cover that the PinePhone comes with broke for me, so I wanted to buy a more sturdy cover.
I never use wireless charging and the fingerprint reader is expensive, so I went with the LoRa case since that interests me.
However, it seems even after I shut the phone down completely, the LoRa case continues to drain power. I can feel a faint warmth and the next day my phone has been completely dead multiple times.
I just wanted to warn people and I hope Pine64 or OS maintainers can find a fix. I think I'll put some tape over the pogo pins for now since I have no use for LoRa at the moment.

Ringtone |

I have two 3Gig Pinephones.
Incidentally I had to replace the screen on the second one as soon as I got it!
This might be a bit unusual, but I want to use it as a mobile phone, rather than editing videos etc.!
I installed Arch, because it is lightweight, and only has what you need, rather than the kitchen sink. Also surely I should be able to go in and get things to work.
OK, so how do I get it to produce a noise I can hear when I get an incoming call or SMS?
There is a path to the ringtones:
/usr/share/sounds/freedesktop/stereo
Lots of .oga files there, but they must all be recordings of silence!
I assume there is some way of waking them up, but what is it?
I have DanctNIX Tweaks installed. Nice GUI. It would be even nicer if it did something!
Please help me get these phones to make noises so that I know when I have a call, or SMS.
I do not require a full orchestra, just something loudly audible to attract my attention.

Getting hdmi out to work reliably? |

Hi all,
I have a PPP that doesn't seem to have the HDMI out functioning reliably. The secondary display "appears" for a split second then disappears, and this keeps repeating. (See gif below) The odd thing is that I was able to get it connected successfully on the first try, but afterwards nearly all attempts have led to this behaviour.
For reference here's a gif of the setting screen:

I'm running a new install of the latest mobian with phosh, although I get the same issue with arch (and with GNOME and other DE). Also this isn't a adapter/cable/monitor issue as I can get this configuration working with my laptop.

soquartz - ssh available? |

Hopefully the right place to post soquartz threads:
The Problem
Upon bootup, it does a dhcp and grabs an IP address. Otherwise, no evidence of a pulse [no HDMI output, seemingly no console via serial output]. Is there a way to ssh in? If so, what are the credentials? rock64\rock64 and many other obvious combinations fail.
The Setup
I have a soquartz module on a rpi4 module IO carrier board (https://datasheets.raspberrypi.com/cm4io...asheet.pdf) from a SD card, image 'rk3566-soquartz-cm4.dtb.img'.
Open to other ideas on how to get to console. Thanks for any suggestions.
