Information Capitole du Libre 2022
Posted by: fantomid - 08-18-2022, 04:43 PM - Forum: Langue Française - Replies (3)

A bientôt,

Pad to level Emmc like the PineBook Pro
Posted by: JessicaQ - 08-18-2022, 12:28 PM - Forum: RockPro64 Hardware and Accessories - No Replies

Does anyone know where to buy the pad that is underneath the emmc on PineBook Pro to have it level? I have the Rockpro64 sbc and the emmc is just hovering in the air on one side and need something to stabilizing it so it doesn't come off easily. Thank you.

How to upgrade Phosh on Pinephone?
Posted by: ibid - 08-18-2022, 11:48 AM - Forum: Arch Linux on PinePhone - Replies (1)

Hi, I have local/danctnix-phosh-ui-meta 0.2.2 installed and local/phosh 0.17.0-1.

I have been unable to upgrade phosh to 0.20.0-1

Is this possible? When I run 'sudo pacman -Syu' it replies that there is nothing to do. Must I re-flash a whole new image? Or is there some way to upgrade my current installation?

Manjaro Gnome 22.06 pamac update fail/soft-bricked-OS
Posted by: u974615 - 08-17-2022, 09:32 PM - Forum: Linux on Pinebook Pro - Replies (5)

Is anyone else having issues updating the Pinebook Pro Manjaro ARM GNOME 22.06 image?

I attempted to update the system on SD card (and internal eMMC) via "Add/Remove Software" (pmac?).  It locks up at "Checking Integrity...".  Then after shutting down, the OS won't boot.

Is the hardware still being developed and refined?
Posted by: orbital - 08-17-2022, 06:25 PM - Forum: PinePhone Hardware - Replies (10)

With all the concerns raised about charging difficulties,
I wonder if the PinePhone's hardware is still being improved,
or whether it was a "one and done" operation.
Is Pine working to fix hardware problems?

  pinebook pro not booting
Posted by: cricket - 08-17-2022, 12:51 PM - Forum: Linux on Pinebook Pro - Replies (1)

Hello, I got a pinebookpro two days ago and it was not booting, I would press the power button and nothing would happen, neither a red nor green light anywhere nothing was happening neither with a short or long press of the power button.

I read the troubleshooting guide about the emmc switch, but I didn't have the tools to open the computer. Today I got the screwdriver and as I was opening it (so not even touching any switch or anything) I heard some noise coming out of the speakers I checked the screen and the manjaro initial setup screen was there. I closed the computer back and went through the manjaro setup and I checked that everything was working (speakers, microphone, wifi).

I then prepared a SD card to install devuan on the pinebookpro (https://pkgmaster.devuan.org/devuan/dist...rd-images/) and I was able to boot from the SD card and go to the installation process. I arrived to the part when it tells you installation is over please remove the SD card and reboot and I did, but it did not reboot.

At this point I am in a similar state that I has at the beginning I press the power button and nothing happens, no orange or green light, no reaction from the computer at all, it does not boot from the emmc cardm and it does not boot from the SD card (I even disconnected the emmc to try to make sure uboot is takn from the SD card)

Any ideas on what I could do?
Thanks!

  Swap/Upgrade Storage Device?
Posted by: r00t3d - 08-17-2022, 06:11 AM - Forum: Linux on Rock64 - No Replies

Hi,

I've had a Rock64 from back in 2017 when they were first launched, I ordered it with an eMMC 32GB chip which has been working flawlessly, however....
I now regularly run out of storage space and I'm running bare minimum resources to keep storage low.
I have spare, 64GB and 256GB MicroSD Cards, I was wondering if it was possible for me to somehow clone the eMMC onto one of these MicroSD cards, plug it in and boom, I am back to where I was but with more storage?

I know this isn't going to be that simple however, any guides or tips would be most welcome.

Thanks.

Any ideas?

  Need a new microphone?
Posted by: kujo_marble - 08-16-2022, 08:26 PM - Forum: PinePhone Hardware - No Replies

I've got a Pinephone that is giving me some trouble. The microphone has caused problems since I got it, causing staticy noise and making my voice unrecognizable. Now, it completely fails to pick up anything-- complete silence. I want to A/B test using bluetooth or plugin headphones, but with every OS, nothing shows up when scanning for Bluetooth devices. The issue with the mic also goes across all OSes. This strikes me as broken hardware. Opinions?
