After Flashing eMMC, Will Not Boot |

Hello,
I was following this guide to utilize my new NVMe drive.
When I flashed the eMMC from an SD boot, everything seemed to go well.
After shutting down, it will no longer boot. If I hold the power button for 20+ seconds, then press the power key, the red LED flashes but nothing is happening after that.
I've tried booting from the SD with and without the eMMC installed. I've also tried flashing the eMMC with the USB adapter.
I thought flashing the eMMC was a safe operation to perform. Am I missing something.
Any help is appreciated.

Got a PBP - batch(August/September) and the audio is not good(2 big issues) |

Hello all,
I finally decided to get a PBP and I mostly love it but the audio is... not good.
First of all, here is what I did to try to get the latest software:
I got Two-Boot, installed Manjaro ARM generic 22.08 (XFCE), updated touchpad firmware(not sure it did anything).
Previously I had tried Manjaro ARM for PBP(22.06) as well as the KDE factory image(had some issues with Wayland).
Now here is the state of the audio, with the latest Manjaro and everything:
1. The popping and whine are still here: to clarify, if the audio module gets suspended it does an annoying pop sound - this can be worked around by not letting the sound suspend via wireplumber.
2. The whine from speakers - high pitch noise, whatever - this is can be reduced by getting the brightness of the display to max and can be removed by switching to headphones output(you will hear it in the headphones if they are connected)
3. The mic is just broken - 2 separate issues:
3.1 the internal mic picks up an enourmous amount of noise drowning out any useful signal - maybe tweaking some stuff in alsa would help - I am not sure yet.
3.2 plugging in a TRRS headphone does not allow using the microphone on the headphones, the port is just not there. Possibly an ALSO issue. I tried messing around with asound.state but no success.
bonus:
3.3 bluetooth audio also does not allow for mic use
Look, I love the PBP but audio... is a basic function of a laptop, I am open to fixing/hacking anything.
P.S.
I ordered a USB to audio jack adapter(mini usb audio card) to try to bypass the audio card entirely, maybe this will be a fix but... yeah, wish the onboard audio would work.
HELP !

Broken usb-c to hdmi with kernel 5.18+ |

I just reinstalled Manjaro (Mate) with an image from Manjaro's github page and the kernel version in the image was 5.18. HDMI with a usb-c dongle is broken. This used to work when I was using the default Manjaro KDE that came with the PBPro when purchased. It was running kernel version 5.7. This was a kernel version specific for the Pinebook Pro. Now the Manjaro images available on github have kernel version 5.18. which after updating to 5.19 the same problem is observed. Kernel 5.7 is available on Manjaro's repository but unfortunately there is an issue with building the initramfs file after installing the kernel. It complains there is no module "panel_edp". So there are booting issues after that. Basically staying on kernel 5.19 and figuring out a workaround for the usb-c to hdmi issue seems the best option.
Does anybody know how to fix this in the current kernel 5.19? Is there any specific module that might be missing in Manjaro's kernel image?

HDMI and PBP USB C port |

Hello, bought a PBP a few months ago. I'm very happy. A great product.
I'm using it, more and more as my main PC and hope, one day, to use it for everything.
The next month, I'm going to start a language course. The school works on Zoom and Google Classroom.
I'm thinking to give the PBP a try and, moreover, to record all the lessons with an external screen capture device I have, via HDMI.
After reading some posts, have those questions:
0. in general, do you think my choice is too risky?
1. in particular,
a. do you have any experience with Zoom? Using Manjaro?
b. does the PBP the video signal pass through a common USB C entry/HDMI female exit adapter? Any experience? The idea is to connect the HDMI cable (connected with the adapter, which is connected with the PBP) to my external screen capture device. I also have the PP dock, I got with my PP, in any case. Sorry for this last question, I'm travelling for my job and don't have with me my PBP. For now, just thinking about problems I could have when I come back home and listening to the community experience...
Thank you all so much.

Testing a broken Vulkan driver |

After reading this post that someone has Vulkan working on the Pinephone Pro, I tried it on the Pinebook Pro.
https://www.reddit.com/r/pinephone/comme...rk_on_the/
You have to add the following line to /etc/environment
PAN_I_WANT_A_BROKEN_VULKAN_DRIVER=1
And reboot.
So I tested with Manjaro and you have to be on Wayland.
I have the following Vulkan packages installed:
vulkan-headers
vulkan-icd-loader
vulkan-mesa-layers
vulkan-panfrost
vulkan-tools
And the vkcube demo only works for me when I run the Wayland version: vkcube-wayland
So far I haven't found anything useful.
PPSSPP doesn't work with Vulkan on Linux ARM and I can't start a game with AetherSX2.
Perhaps there are some other things we can try to test?

Hello,
I was not able to find any information on this so I am trying it here. What is the rated endurance in terms of data written of the eMMC modules that can be attached to the Quartz64?

Scaling problem Arch Linux Phosh |

I see that an old bug has resurfaced? I have always edited the phoc.ini in the phosh directory to 150% but I see now that after reboot it has returned to 200% default. It appears as though the phoc.ini no longer controls the scaling?
Has anyone else run into this issue very recently?
If so were you able to fix it or edit another file?

Hello world :-)
I have just pre-ordered StarFive VisionFive2 board [1] with StarFive JH7110 with RISC-V U74 CPU.
Someone pointed me to a similar but more robust STAR64 project from the PINE64.. but I can only find a WIKI page [1].. no Forum section.. no Store section.
I would like to ask about the PINE64 STAR64 project status:
* When it will be available to order?
* What would be the price?
* Do you plan FreeBSD support?
Thanks :-)
