SFOS 4.4.0.72, with calls |

The sailfishos port for pinephone, pinetab and pinephonepro is now updated to the latest sfos release 4.4.0.72. Current state: calls now work and wake device from deep sleep, but call audio is poor at the moment....everything else works except the following:
Not working - camera (waiting for development of libcamera);
Wifi disconnects after sleep, it needs to be toggled off and back on. The indicator shows it as still connected but if you check under Settings>Developer Tools you can see the WLAN IP address field is empty.
There is a new wiki for documentation: https://github.com/sailfish-on-dontbeevi...ation/wiki
The flash-it script works for emmc and sdcards. The option "raw" to write an image on your pc is still broken.
Waydroid works but is very sluggish and a battery guzzler. In theory it needs 6GB ram so especially on original PP it's always going to be slow.
Update edit: after a period of about 3hrs the screen now longer wakes and the only option is to force shutdown (power button for 5 seconds) and reboot.

Hello,
got my hands on a Pinetab lately. Since UT is hardly usable I want to flash another OS.
I read through the threads here and since most of the relvant posts are quite old I like to ask what OS works as of the end of 2022?
Any news about tow boot?
Thanks in advance!

Original 14" Pinebook an Orphan? |

I recently was unable to update Manjaro with xfce on my Pinebook. The Wiki says Manjaro is no longer supporting the Pinebook. The Wiki says that Ambian is still supporting it, but I can't find that at Ambian's website, though the site does list the Pinebook Pro. Is my Pinebook now useless with no suitable OS?

Boot Process |

I bought a Pine Phone recently. I flashed maemo-leste-1.0-arm64-pinephone-20221113 to a microSD card using BalenaEtcher on a cpu running Windows 11. I put the microSD card into the PinePhone and turned it on. Maemo-Leste booted okay. I turned it off. I turned it on again and Maemo-Leste did not boot completely. The MicroSD card became unusable on the Pine Phone, but still seemed usable on a windows cpu. Any thoughts?
There's a little more to it then this (i.e. keyboard, microSD card, trouble I had with Manjaro, many times I reformatted the microSD card, and other images I flashed to it, it's the discontinued$149 2GB/16GB PinePhone ), but there didn't seem to be an initial problem with the boot, only a problem the second time I'd boot and not only with Maemo-Leste, though that was the first one I tried.

'standard' Debian on Pinephone? |

Hi,
I would like to install a standard debian bullseye on my pinephone - no phone like options needed...
I have the Keyboard wich assembles together with the pinephone to a "small sized" laptop, or better palmtop computer so I'd like to use it that way :-)
Taking Mobian and strip everything down is not the route I would prefer to take.
Any hints if someone already did that?
Thanks a lot!
Cheers

Making and selling custom Pinebooks |

Would pine64 be able to provide custom pinebook pros (remove pinebook logo from super button and with my custom linux os preinstalled) to some of my customers?
(note: this is just a general IDEA and not a real business inquiry in any means, just seeing if it might be possible in 6m-1y)
P.S. The custom linux distro is still in development please don't ask for an iso
P.P.S. If I posted this in the wrong channel I'm sorry, I really didn't know which channel this would fit in

Hello,
I've been playing with Arch (Phosh) on the Pro for a while now, and kind of like it.
Recently (past week or two) when I try to run "sudo pacman -Syyu" I get a 404 error from mirror.archlinuxarm.org
Anybody have any idea what's going on here?
Thanks
