I tried to use Pine64 board with HDMI to DVI converter. It resulted black screen but when I used HDMI monitor instead of DVI one, it worked.

It says disabling HDCP and enabling HDMI CTS compatibility allows use of HDMI to DVI converters. Is there any way to do that on Pine64?

Just installed Arch Linux on my Pine64+2GB board and want to try installing additional applications and libraries but can't find dpkg, apt-get, or synaptic. How does one install new packages?

I received my Pine64+2GB board yesterday and have spent the last 24 hours loading SD cards with various OS's and trying to boot from them. I have followed all the instructions on the Wiki and have had little success. Even though I connect my HDMI monitor directly to the Pine board I have never seen even a flicker on the screen anytime during a power up boot. Some OS distributions like Android and arch-pine64-bspkernel-20160403.img showed some signs of life after booting (the audio speakers buzzed specifically whenever the mouse was moved) but still no video. The arch-pine64 image definitely booted to running code since networking worked and I was able to ssh into the board from another PC but still no video on the pine monitor. Now I know that my monitor, keyboard, mouse, speakers, and network cables work since when I plug them all into my RaspberryPi it boots up just fine.

Can anyone suggest something else that I can try? My guess is that I have non-functioning Video hardware on my board. What do you think? How do I get a replacement board?

I still haven't received my board, but I saw that Amazon has released a step-by-step guide to building an Alexa-powered speaker yourself with a Raspberry Pi.

Would anyone know if and how we could do it on Pine64?

When I use the file browser the I can see my USB memory stick and access files no problem.  hen I add a 2nd memory stick the browser does not see it.

Is this a limitation of the Android OS or the browser?  Is there already a work around I don't know about.

I have followed the instructions on the wiki, watched a few YouTube videos...

When I boot the RemixOS it stays on a screen showing the Pine logo and "PINE 64", it stays on this screen until I turn it off, the longest time on being 80 minutes.

Also the screen should be white in the background, but my screen is green!

I only have the monitor and power supply connected, I am using 2.1A USB charger, but I have tried another 5!

I have tried 4 USB cables, one about 15cm, so very short.

I have tried 2 SD cards.

I have several Raspberry Pi boards running well, an UDOO board, several Arduinos, and various other dev boards, but I can’t seem to get this Pine to work!!

I'm playing around with the most recent Debian image posted by lenny.raposo and I'm having issues with the display.

Specifically I only have a crappy old Dynex TV that has a resolution of 1366x768. When the Pine is outputting 1920x1080 the display runs off the edges. (I've checked the menus and there is no setting that will get it to scale properly ) So, I'm playing around trying to get the Pin to use the native resolution of the panel, but no luck so far. (Could be my inexperience with Debian and XFCE) I wanted to confirm if it's even possible given the hardware.

Hi, I received my board yesterday, and today was able to make my SD card. I tried with both Remix OS and Android, but I cannot get past their respective boot screens. I get the imagine saying "Pine64 powered by android" on my screen, yet it just stays there. I do not have any peripherals plugged in, and supposedly my SD card is not counterfeit. Any help would be appreciated.

I got my 2GB Pine A64 today and was pretty happy until I went to install an OS. According to the wiki, I can't install Arch Linux or Remix OS "due to a bug involving DMA data transfer with the gigabit ethernet."

As far as I can tell, my only option is to install Android Lollipop (which is useless to me). I'm very disappointed that I paid extra for the 2GB model and cannot use it as advertised. Any idea when either of those OSes will be fixed? In the meantime, do I have any other options besides Android??
