RockPro Wireless+Bluetooth Issue - Linux (ayufan 0.7.8 and previous)

I may be overlooking something very simple. Here is what I have observed so far. I am referencing the image file from ayufan, 0.7.8 LDXE RockPro. I have went all the way down from dev releases to the 0.6.X stable releases, but I have the same results. It's actually worse on older builds, which I expected.
I have two separate units, with two separate RockPro bt+wifi modules that integrate in to the board. I have ran several commands to try to see the issue, but with no success.
The lsusb output does not show the adapter, which is expected since it doesn't use USB.
The "lshw -C network" shows that the adapter is wlan0.
The "rfkill list" shows that the adapter is there, and wireless isn't blocked. However, it shows that Bluetooth is soft blocked so I issued the unblock all command. This fixed the software block, but the wireless still wouldn't work.
iwconfig isnt even available. The "ifconfig wlan0 up" command returns "The operation is not permitted".
To validate that it isn't hardware related, I loaded the other Android builds and they work great with wireless. But those builds are extremely limited functionally and visibly without the tablet.
Sorry if this is a solid noob question, so feel free to cut jokes, lmao. I just tried about everything I could think of. wicd wasn't even an option, but that's likely due to the build not recognizing the adapter fully.
Any help is appreciated!! Thanks all, especially to ayufan for everything! You are a kind soul, and I'll buy you a beer anytime. ;-)

0.7.9 Linux release from ayufan |

Hello everyone,
ayufan marked 0.7.8 as the new Linux release for RockPro64.
It contains many improvements and enables many features that were missing in 0.6.44, so I strongly suggest everyone either upgrade (as per ayufan's instructions):
Code: sudo apt-get update -y
sudo apt-get install linux-rockpro64 -y
... or just run a fresh install.
The changelog from 0.6.44 is quite extensive so I suggest you read it on the release page. If you encounter issues with this (or future 0.7.X builds) report them in this thread or directly on github.
Enjoy!

Smooth UHD / 4K h264 playback with mpv

Hi all
After putting it off for months then waiting weeks for it to arrive from the US (I live in England) my rock64 arrived today!
One of the biggest draws for me of the rock64 over the RPi3 etc is the ability to decode and play UHD and 4K h264 in hardware. I've already verified this works with my UHD h264 videos under LibreELEC but I found LibreELEC to be very unstable and I really want to use 'desktop linux' with mpv as it is a superior video player. The only 'proper' Linux distro I have tried so far on my r64 has been bionic-lxde-rock64-0.6.44 but when I try playing my h264 files (that play fine under LibreELEC) using rkmpv I get lots of horizontal green lines and a very poor, jerky frame rate.
So, which version of which distro has the best HW accelerated video playback under mpv? Does HW video decoding (and OGLES 2 3D accel) work under armbian xenial? How about arch?
I found this guide useful, if incomplete:

Twonky Server

Hi all,
I got a Rock64 and I want to run Twonky Server on it.
Currently I am using Openmediavault, but I am not limited to it - any available Linux is okay.
However from the Twonky downloads page I tried several, but could not succeed in running anyone.
I tried those around Linux Arm LE and Armv8.
I wonder if anyone succeeded or can advise which one could run under which environment...
TIA.
BR
Pablo

Intermittent PSU Connection

Hi all
Just received my RockPro64 and high power PSU from Pine64 shop. The PSU connection between the barrel connector on the PSU lead and the barrel connector on the RockPro64 board seems really intermittent on mine - with it proving very tricky to get the green power LED to stay on and boot to start. I have managed it a couple of times but it's really tricky.
Am I doing something obviously wrong?
Have raised a support ticket with Pine 64 - but thought I'd ask around here if there were any known issues?

Exagear on R64

Hello,
I'm looking for any information about running exagear x86 emulation on the Rock64.
I'm using ayufan's ubuntu 18.04 image and I'm wondering if I can run Homeworld on it.
So far I've tried Qemu and get 1fps on Windows 2000.
I'm wondering if anything better can be done, or if this is the end of the line for the idea.
Exagear states they support Pine64 as well as ODROID C2 (same chip as the R64), so maybe this can work?
I've tried contacting them in the website chat, but since its Sunday it'll obviously take a while.
Again, any info/experiences are welcome.

Pine64 LTS Boot Media order

Hello All,
I wan to learn boot media order of A64 SOC on Pine64 LTS board.
I searched user manual and datasheet, but found nothing.
As of now I am booting firmware with SD card, but planning it to boot from SPI NOR flash.
Will A64 SOC try to boot from order e.g. SD -> EMMC -> SPI?
if yes what offset address with SPI I have to flash firmware?
Regards,
Akash Gajjar
