Hello, I recently bought 2 new official pinecile's v2 bl706. One works great, the other a gift simply shows a picture of a nail with with an X thru it, does this via usb-c pd or barrel (both of which work on other unit). Google didnt have anything bout that picture (hard to search for that tho) and I couldn't see anything in forums here about a nail with X. Clearly talking about the tip. Removed it cleaned it, made sure no debri on inside connections. Same thing. Is that a vague generic error picture or hopefully something fairly specific? Any webpage with the error icons explained? DOA seems crazy to me so I'm hopefull its something silly, cannot afford to buy another one. Never did look if a warranty of any kind exists. Thank you in advance.

Booting from SD card on Pinetab2 |

Hello,
I recently received a Pinetab2, and I'm very pleased with the quality of manufacture. However, I wanted to try using Ubuntu touch or Mobian instead of Danctnix. I flashed the Ubuntu touch image listed on the releases page onto an SD card, plugged the SD card into the tablet, and turned it on. Every time I tried booting, it booted Danctnix. When I plugged the UART adaptor into the bottom USB C port and turned the switch to the "on" position, nothing at all booted. The same thing happened when I tried booting Mobian.
I tethered the tablet to a phone and updated the Danctnix system, because I saw that on the most recent factory image, Mobian could supposedly boot without using the UART adapter. Nothing changed.
I followed the instructions on this page to install Mobian. I installed U-boot, but I didn't see any change in behavior. According to the "About this System" page, the the version of U-Boot is 2023.07.02-00055-gc294612d38 and the kernel version is 6.4.3-danctnix1-1-pinetab2.
Does anyone have any suggestions?

I am working on a GUI app for postmarket os that I wish to distribute via apk. I have successfully packaged the app using abuild, but after a day of searching, I cannot find any info on including a desktop file and icon image in the package. Does anyone know how to accomplish this. I am very new to postmarket os and alpine linux, so any help would be appreciated.

Booting Explained please |

This may have been asked before, I can't find it. Do we search for "start up", "Starting", Booting", Buzz", "Buzzing", "Vibrate", etc, you get the picture
If already explained, please post link.
My questions relate to "trying to boot new OS from SD-Card", and my inability to find the device (In fastboot mode I THINK).
Red LED Means
Blue LED = Fast Boot Mode
Green LED Means
Buzzing, vibrating at time of boot or booting
Single short Buzz Means
Long Buzz Means
Buzzing and flashing RED LED means
Whilst attempting the power on, press RE button, the phone Buzzed like 5 or 6 times and the RED LED blinked as well.
What does this mean?
Please and Thanks.
I would have thought this would have been in the manual, or on the main intro to your pinephone pro wiki page
Things to know and learn about your PinePhone Pro.
Oh! Whilst I am on this small soapbox, can we please separate all the devices into separate wiki's. I know it's like copy and paste for 90% but then you can add the wiki page to the forum page and vice versa. Which ever model you have, you know where to go, and should be following the correct instructions.
I was reading through something on not powering up, and thought "this reads weird" and then it was a Pine Book page. Be CAREFUL on Search
Thanks

Hi there!
I have recently bought a pine64 and i am using it as a plex server with USB-stick as extra drive to not fill the sd card, unfortunately when i tried to connect a 1tb 2,5 HDD from seagate it wasn't reading it's content, from searching online i found out that the usb2.0 do not provide enough power, and i was now wondering if they could support an SSD or if i need to buy an usb hub.
do you have any suggestion about my problem?
thanks!

Hey everyone, I bought the 1st pinephone that came out which I still have. I stopped using it for a while but thinking of starting back. I thinking of buying the pinephone pro. Any thoughts on that? Does anyone know if they are going to build another one?
One thing I'm worried about is most company is changing to 5g service. Will pinephone start making their phone 5g as well? If not then soon enough we will not be able to use them.
Thank you
Chris

Recurrent problems with broken charger chip on the pinephone/pinephone pro keyboard |

Has anyone with the kb case had recurrent problems with charging? I am on my second kb case after the first one had the charger break on me. Unfortunately the second kb case is now showing similar symptoms...
The symptoms are first the kb battery does not charge but it still sends some charge to the actual pinephone battery. The second is that it is unusually warm at the bottom of the kb case. This is where I am at with the second kb case.
If my experience with the first kb case is anything to go by, then soon the charger chip on the kb case will fail altogether and will not be able to charge anything.
Anyone else had similar problems? If so what response if any did you get from pine 64?
I am happy to have the software not working, but I think it is not on really to have the hardware regularly fail like this. Did anyone with similar problems get sent another main board from pine 64 as compensation?

Happy to learn how to put in the main board, but it should really say in the information about the kb if this is going to be a recurring cost due to a faulty charger chip design.
I love the kb but at present I cannot recommend others buying it due to this design flaw. It really does make the ppp usable as a daily driver for me though hence my disappointment.
