Hello all, 

I finally got Armbian running again (Thanks Manjaro, no bootloader flashed to SPI had me running in circles for months...)

Audio works on bluetooth but not via speakers (yes I did confirm that they are plugged in)

Can anyone suggest a fix? I have seen alsamixer suggested but cannot find any more data on that for the life of me.

I have googled this but cannot find an answer.  How do I install "9999" packages, for example

First of all, I'm aware that there's no driver yet for the internal wifi / bluetooth device.  I've been using a combination of USB-A to USB-C adapters to do all manner of things from usb tethering off my phone, utilizing a USB-A wifi adapter, and using a USB to ethernet adapter.  While all of these options previously worked with the danctnix installation, none of them appear to be functioning with Mobian.

I did have to use the USB to ethernet adapter with the danctnix installation first in order to update the OS before the USB wifi adapter would function.. and I figure I might need to do something similar with the mobian install.. but I've run into a bit of an issue.

At some point, the USB tethering on my phone just.. decided to stop working with things (I think that's a phone thing, though.)  The USB ethernet adapter worked with danctnix and the USB wifi adapter worked once I upgraded the device.. but after installing U-Boot and Mobian according to the instructions, while the operating system appears to function, I cannot get any level of network connectivity to hopefully get my wifi adapter functioning.

Interestingly, both the USB to ethernet adapter and the USB wifi adapter show up under `lsusb` and there's a "usb0" connection that shows as "unavailable" when running `nmcli`, but I'm at a bit of a loss at this point for what to do now.

Does anyone have any ideas about how I might go about getting some kind of network connectivity on the device?

i'm not totally new to Ubuntu/Linux but still far from being a pro!

Actually i run Ubuntu 22.04 (installed via ARMBIAN) with Gnome 42 on my Pinebook Pro:

I just like the looks of it and see it as being a lot more suitable for a Mobile GUI then the other normal ones.

I've already tried the PostMarketOS version but it doesn't seem to want to detect mobile data

Okay this is odd...

I tried flashing Plasma Mobile via Windows and Tow Boot by the Volume up method.
It didn't show my MicroSD card but it show Linux device u something 128Gb I knew this was the Pinephone Pro, so I thought no big deal I'll just install it to the phone.

It successfully flashed I get past the PostmarketOS Splash boot screen, but then am in a Console asking me for a login.

How do I do this and would it just be 147147

Or restore it where i can finally get into the phone

I was just wanting run KDE Plasma instead of Mobian. haha

Also came home realized I forgot to power it off plugged it into a higher powered charger to jumpstart it back to life and got this message in the second picture.

FYI I am a Linux newb and flashing androids via Odin and LG Flash Tools has kind of spoiled me, but if I wasn't willing to risk borking this phone, it wouldn't be worth owning or part of the growth and development of this device.

Hi have been thinking a lot lately that it would be nice to have a Linux or Android OS Blue Ray , DVD . Multimedia TV box about the size of a mac mini with a Blu-ray, DVD player and tv media software witch would be more powerful than existing TV boxes. Generally would have Blue-Ray , DVD abilities but also smart Tv abilities similar in function to the Roku box but also have a hard drive and a working web browser and other computer functions that would be useful for use with a TV. Also should have flex abilities and possibly a onboard hard drive to play video files for tv. Generally would result in a product that would be more desirable to a DVD , Bule-Ray player and a Roku Box. As for software there are a few Linux based media suits that may work well with this product. I can see a large amount of sales for this product as it would be more desirable than an Apple Tv or Roku product or other media boxes available online and also include the DVD and or Blue-Ray player.

I'd like to keep the PT2 in the case, but sometimes fold the keyboard back and use only touch input. My first thought was to try to write a desktop launcher using xinput, but I see that xinput does not work with Wayland. Any advice for how to accomplish this?

dmesg is reporting a raft of re-occuring errors with the built-in ethernet / NIC.

as a result I cannot bring the NIC online. (tried ip link set end0 down/up and raises these dmesg output)

(fyi: if its useful, I can use an usb eth dongle and kernel recognizes it and I connect via that okay - usless it is usb3.0 port and another set of warning are raised ...for another port maybe)

I have tried using the PoE adapter I have for it and "normal" eth with DC power, and the same issue.

Recently the keyboard produced strange sequence of characters so I had to use an externel usb keyboard. I also noticed pb pro only started after I tried to press the power button several times. After a while, my pinebook pro can't start any more - I suspect because the keyboard died and the power button is on the keyboard. I took out  the mainboard to see if I can use it in a project (and use the display panel as a monitor for another computer), but I haven't figured out how to start it. I tried the "Reset" button but it doesn't seem to power on the mainboard. I also tried to press and hold that reset button, and did the same to the other button next to it. Nothing happened.

Is it possible to power on the mainboard without keyboard?
