Is there a way to rearrange your desktop?  Add folders?

Is there a way to set suspend on ram, like what purism did to the L5? It seems to improve battery life a lot.

got my Pinebook Pro few days ago, so complete newbie with Arm64 & Co (including ArchLinux/Manjaro, I'm more of a Fedora user normally).

Anyway, connection over Wifi to my network works (ping etc), but anything slightly heavy (loading a webpage in Firefox or calling pacman to refresh the cache or install a package) leads after a very little while (less than a minute for sure) to a complete breakdown of the whole network, not only for the PBP, but also for any other device, even connected to the LAN or another Wifi.

I had "Enabled Smart Connect - Let the router intelligently select the best 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz WiFi band for your WiFi connections. Smart Connect requires that the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz WiFi networks use the same WiFi network name (SSID), security options, and password." Having read about issues with the 2.4GHz band at https://wiki.pine64.org/index.php/Pinebo...h_and_WiFi I've switched off this option and give a specific name to the 5GHz network, and started only using this one. BUT this didn't make any difference and I'm a bit at the end of my ideas what I can do.

Perhaps important, the Wifi router is a Nighthawk® X4S R7800 running in AP Mode against another router (TP-Link TL-WDR4300 v1 with OpenWrt 22.03.3 r20028-43d71ad93e / LuCI openwrt-22.03 branch git-22.361.69894-438c598), which is used since years without any issue.

new pinephone regular model with nano-sim slot.

this is a small proposal, but i think it is not a huge change anyway. micro-sim slots starting to be an unnecessary inconvenience.

alternately, newer phones could be nano-sim only.

Hello, is there a way to install arch with FDE?

To this aim I have two alarms set up on my PPP. The first one wake up my PPP from the poweroff to the standby mode. This first alarm does not activate the alarm clock on PPP but wake up PPP from poweroff mode. The second alarm set up 5 minutes after the first turn the proper alarm on PPP.
Thanks to such a solution, my PPP is turned off by nights saving battery, and simultaneously, it turns on on time morning when I am waking up  

I use PPP as a daily phone (phosh on postmarket OS).

Hello, I've been looking at the PineTime schematics, and I don't see any documentation on what is connected to the other ends of the various connectors on the main board. Is there some additional documentation about those components? For example, I'm curious on what is attached to the KEY connector - I can't quite tell from the main board schematic what exactly would go on the other end.

Today I tried upgrading my board to the 6.5 series kernel and it seems eth0 no longer shows up.

the typical "rk_gmac-dwmac" dmesg entries don't show up at all.

Anyone else facing this issue? This is a headless system and debugging via UART isn't much fun, so I've booted back into the working 6.4 kernel.

Hi,

I had several problems with my harddrives during burn in test. I believe I made it more stable by using an overpowered beQuiet ATX power supply.
But still after about 10 hours of burn in, one of the drives disappeared from system.

is there anything I could do about it, or should I try a different SATA adapter?
It's a ASM1166 based one.

I really like the idea of what is possible with the Pine-64 project boards and the possibility of making new projects boards and parts. One item I would defiantly like to see would a project barebones Pine-64 Ethernet / Wi-fi router project board. This would require pine-64 base components, ethernet input and 4 ethernet output ports. Possibly two wi-fi modules or even three counting on needs to allow a user to individually channel wi-fi output. Now the biggest part behind such a project would be the software behind the router and is important for flexibility and advanced security settings to do things current market wi-fi routers can not do.

The big part behind this would be that it is a project board possibly using advanced router Linux software for router management and firewall security. As for if this would sell ok I would defiantly order one and have been wanting to build a wi-fi router with Linux software for a very long time. The end result would be a commercially available router that can out perform existing routers on the market and run advanced software on a commercially available platform.
