  ROCK64 not booting
Posted by: TheGiolly - 09-06-2019, 03:39 PM - Forum: General Discussion on ROCK64 - Replies (10)

Hi, I'm trying to boot Armbian on a ROCK64 4GB but I'm stuck.
I flashed "Armbian_5.90_Rock64_Debian_stretch_default_4.4.182_desktop.img" on a MicroSD card with Etcher.
From the serial output I get this

  Playbox LCD
Posted by: JayTheLegend - 09-06-2019, 09:25 AM - Forum: Linux on RockPro64 - No Replies

I'm having issues getting my LCD screen to work on RockPro64.

I really would not like to run Android and I see that for the other pine boards it's as simple as enabling the LCD in the config(Armbian). Am I missing something or can someone either direct me to a tutorial or explain why this is not possible. And if there are plans to ship this with newer version when can we expect? I know that's a bold question asking a opensource forum, but perhaps someone can point me in the right direction.

  Linux distro that will work with Kodi?
Posted by: SBCraok - 09-05-2019, 09:39 PM - Forum: Linux on RockPro64 - Replies (9)

I was trying to put together a self contained kodi box (pine NAS box  Big Grin ) with three internal hard drives and I am having a hell of a time with it. LibreELEC is a no go because libreelec do not support the PCIe or wireless mod. I thought the ubuntu 18.04 minimal might be the way to go because I could build kodi on top of it but that did not work due to missing dependencies that would not install. I had the same thing happen in mate and armbian.  Are there any of the current Linux builds for rockpro64 that will support kodi? Would Manjaro work? Debian? Am I out of luck right now with the development in its early stages?

thanks! Smile

  Pine HDMI -> DVI monitor
Posted by: Pineapple - 09-05-2019, 11:46 AM - Forum: Getting Started - Replies (4)

Got my Pine RockPro working and now actually wanted to use it in my garage with an old Monitor.

Today reveiceed the HDMI to DVI adapter and hapily connected everything together and no signal..... Huh   Plugged the HDMI cable in my laptop and the old Monitor comes a live. So the adapter is working but somehow not with the Pine board.

Did some research and I came across some old posts that this problem is known. Only thing as a solution found so far is what I found on the armbian site.

https://www.armbian.com/pine64/

They say:  If you use a DVI display don’t forget to define

Code:
disp_dvi_compat=1
 in
Code:
/boot/armbianEnv.txt
 (supported starting with 5.21).

Now I tried to put in the line and save but with no succes. Seems I have no permission? Huh

I don't have much to say except that I was so excited to find this laptop. It is precisely what I am looking for. Low-cost, web, linux, light-weight and I don't need a google account to login.
