Sprint MVNO Support?

The modem company says the modem is certified by Sprint, does that mean it will work? Or will it not work since the PinePhone is probably not registered in Sprint's systems? 

Another question whose answer is very important to me. Do any of the distros support disabling 4G on the PinePhone? I'm asking because I really want to use CDMA2000(Sprint 3G).

Sprint is in a state of flux now. Since T-Mobile took over, they have activated B2 1900 on T-mobiles network for Sprint customers. So you should be seeing greater 4G coverage and VoLTE on that band. However, they are taking away B41 2500 completely and dedicating it to 5G NR. Despite complaints, they are currently not planning on keeping LTE on that band, effectively bricking access to that band for all but the Samsung Galaxy S20.

Ubuntu Touch has no way to set 3G/4G/LTE preference. I saw a commit on git to add the capability to select network preference type in ofono but it's not available yet. Some of the other builds don't use ofono, so someone using them will have to tell you if they can.

Okay thanks, that's useful information. Now that I think about though, I think the modem supports CDMA but not EVDO or CDMA2000, so I'd be stuck on 4G anyway since 2G is gone completely with Sprint.

At least in Debian Phosh you can set your preferred connection or even only allow one.
I think in Sailfish that was possible as well.

Ubuntu Touch OTA 12 RC on my Nexus 5 does include the ability to select  2G, 3G, 4G/LTE in cellular settings. Unfortunately, still doesn't separate LTE specifically.
