I've just received my Rock64 and I'm planning to use Kodi and other multimedia apps on it, while it's connected to my TV.
Should i be using the Android 7.1.2 or the Android TV 7.1.2 image? What's the difference between the two?
Thanks!
Android TV uses the LeanBack launcher (also used on Nvidia Shield) and apps designed for the TV interface; its a community build. The stock image comes with regular Playstore, etc.,
Thanks for the quick reply!
So besides the launcher and pre-installed apps it's basically the same?
Kernel is the same etc., its just the interface. The TV playstore is limited compared to regular playstore, but you can side-load any 'regular' android apps you want.
[edit]: the ATV community build also lacks RKMC.
