Rock64 as a firewall - usb3 gigE adopters

Hi,

I am considering setting up my rock 64 as a firewall using IPFire which will require another Ethernet port. There are many usb3 to Ethernet adapters and I am not sure if they are compatible. Here are a couple of options:

This brings me to my questions.

1. Has anyone successfully tested using a usb3 gigE adapter on Ayufun's latest Debian release?
2. If yes, is there a specific version that is needed for compatibility purposes?
3. Do we think that either of the ones linked above will work? If not is there an alternate that you would suggest?

IP fire is a distro with no support for Rockchip or the RK3328 or Rock64.

The anker is a realtek r8152
Amazon basic is a Asix AX88179/178A

Never heard of Asix but realtek are real common.

But unless you are going to go full developer mode and create your own image for IPFire with all the work Ayufan has done then maybe think about that the Anker might not get used.

I noticed this audio "hat" in the pine64 store:  https://www.pine64.org/?product=rock64-s...d-on-board
which has an additional 10/100 ethernet port...  might work for your firewall purposes.

Also, if the IPFire distro doesn't support ROCK64, you could just install one of the minimal distros and use IPtables.  ('ufw' package makes managing rules easier than editing by hand)
