I've got my PINE64 connected via HDMI to my receiver but its not passing through Dolby or DTS in either Plex or Netflix. Is this a possibility or was my hope misplaced?

OS revisions are still in development and support is a bit flaky. Have patience.

I'm just hoping to get official word that Dolby and DTS passthrough was in the roadmap. Also, I wanted to make sure I wasn't missing something obvious.

Not sure about Plex, but with Netflix, you will NEVER get HD video or Dolby Digital or DTS with this board and version of Android or Remix OS.

Never? Please shed some light on how you know this, clarkss12. Is it a hardware or a software issue?

I'm assuming it's a limitation Netflix puts on the Android app.

Isn't that dependent on a specific version of DRM library (Widevine DRM) and Netflix certification? see here http://www.cnx-software.com/2015/12/30/w...n-netflix/

So if those drm and widewine issues are fixed, a Netflix certification of at least the Android image should be within reach, right?

According to the article, Netflix only certified a couple box vendors with multi-million deployment figures and no new devices recently...
