Pinetab2 Battery indicator
#1
Hello ! I received my pinetab a few days ago, after some testing  and installing some apps, the battery indicator
stays at 100 %. In settings shows discharging but is after an hour still at 100 %.
Would be great if someone has an idea how to solve this

does the 100% battery persist through logouts/reboots?

yes, no matter if I reboot, shutdown or even tried to create an new user, battery stays at 100 %

I can confirm this, the latest update seems to have broken the battery percentage display; it’s always showing 100%. (Before the update, it did show the correct values).

I shut it off last night showing 100%, didn’t charge it overnight & today my PT2 wouldn’t function at all.

I plugged in a charger and it automatically powered up, working as normal; used it all day at work with no change in battery status (with power applied or not). It only shows “Battery at 100%, Charging”.

Reminds me of my old Jeep CJ-5, where the fuel gauge was always stuck, had to knock on the tank to see what gas I had.

I haven’t modified the kernel or system yet (busy at work), only added the Blackarch repo and some tools, so I don't think my modifications caused the problem.

Same here, and I haven't even added any other repos. I've only installed/updated through pacman & discover. The battery indicator always shows full, no matter how long I run the tablet.

I *did* see varying percentages the first day I ran it straight out of the box, and I'm not sure exactly when it got stuck, whether it was before or after the first major update I ran.

I was poking fun a bit there, that’s why I referenced my old Jeep. The battery indicator is borked, but this tablet has an outstanding battery life.

I still haven’t gone back to my PBP, as this little device has met all of daily needs; I’m looking forward to some days off where I can really get into it & actually start testing things.

Another data point: After draining the battery to 0, then plugging the tablet in and powering it on, the indicator *is* updating while it charges. I wonder if it'll get stuck during charging, when it hits 100, or if the problem will clear up.

Would this be the right place to open a Github issue for the indicator on PineTab 2?

FWIW, the indicator has worked perfectly ever since, so I suspect it may have been fixed in one of the recent updates.
