FOSDEM 19 Announcements Discussion
Hi,
and when will the Pine H64 model B be available? It seems being a advantageous replacement device of the rock64.
Side questions regarding Pinebook Pro:

Is Android development supported on Aarch64? I understand that Android Studio is only for x86, but can one build an app with Gradle or whatever? Does emulator work? I would assume it could offer superior environment to x86 emulator as it would be closer to production environment. Does adb work?

at this point the hardware appears to be at ameridroid but they have red letter warning that there is only beta level o/s available which seems to mean important things, like network, do not work. this seems like a replay of just about all, if not all, pine64 sbc products. except now it's 50 buck hardware and not 20 buck hardware.

then again it's a dev board so if you're a developer who can whip up an o/s for the thing no problem they are in stock, so they say.
As I sayd in the thread...
The phone project is pointless if it will use a quectel module, since these modules uses android internally.
If you goal was get rid of android, you wont.
Ok the module is isolated from the main board, but it still has access to a lot of information like:
phone calls numbers/audio, sms, gps, mobile urls and data...
if this is the project, its better a 50$ android phone.

i'm a developer, but applications developer. I think that Pine64 should supply its boards with an o/s that fully works otherwise, how can they warranty that their products work correctly?
Hi,

I'm one of the many new people that have joined the forum in anticipation of the Pinebook Pro, it's looking like a fantastic machine.

I'm also tempted by the PineTab which I understand is configured akin to the 11.6” Pinebook. Noting the original Pinebook wasn't meant to be a daily driver, what do people think they'll use the PineTab for?

I'm interested in a pure Linux tablet for word processing, media consumption and tinkering on the go. Will this be achievable on the PineTab? Noting the touch screen, would it be possible to use a stylus to take notes (I understand this might be expecting too much)? What do you think the battery life would be like for the PineTab? Could it be comparable to the 11.6" Pinebook, which I understand is pretty impressive?

Thanks!

Nice. Just please tell me that the power-button on the keyboard can be easily disabled.

Very nice! Thermals under different workloads? :p
blu - hope this answers your question, directly from the device tree:
Little Cores:
dynamic-power-coefficient = <100>;
capacity-dmips-mhz = <485>;
Big Cores:
dynamic-power-coefficient = <436>;
capacity-dmips-mhz = <1024>;
