#1
Hi

I am trying to install Andorid on my Rock64 but no matter what image i pick, i get the same error. I have downloaded the installer and created my SD Card using that.
This is the error i am getting when i turn on the Rock64. It shows the boot logo and then i get this

You can try to use another sd card.
Maybe it is corrupted?

I have installed LibreELEC and got that working on the Rock64 and have also tested the card on my Raspberry Pi, so i don't think it's the card. It's a brand new card bought with the Rock64 from the site.

I have many problems with sd cards too.
I will try to be brief Wink.
So when i flash Android to "MediaRange micro sd hc 16GB class10", at first boot it works very good and the system is very fast, but when i reboot my rock64 it's going immediatly to recovery... I must wipe the system completely then it boots like the first time.
With "SanDisk 16GB hc I class10" the system  (android) is very slow ,but there is no problem at reboot.
With "Samsung 32GB evo+" it,s a little less slow...
So it really depends of sd card.

I've just received two brand new Rock64 boards. I've tried Android from your link... damn, I really expected something better from this device Undecided  Getting lot's of "isn't responding" messages on the screen. There is probably something wrong with this Android, it shouldn't be THAT slow...

Yeah, I'm in the same boat.  Saw some press on the board and thought it'd be great, but I was only able to get it to boot android once and when I hooked it up to the TV, the audio was crap.  Now I can't even get that.

Would like an Android TV device that doesn't suck - I've tried the MK808 (Wifi never worked), MiBox (netflix stopped working after a week), and this with no luck.

I haven't used the android build in a while, but with any SBC the most common pitfalls are dodgy power supply or crap microSD card. If you're using the stock power supply that shouldn't be an issue. And I would strongly recommend you try using a Samsung EVO card if you aren't already. Your existing card might be good for phones, cameras, etc, and even claim higher performance specs than the Samsung EVO series, but the card brand/type DOES matter, and is critical with Android as it is heavy on SD card usage. I didn't have any issues with my rock64s when I was trying some of the Android builds before. There has also just been a release of a Android 8.1 for the rock64 that might be worth trying
