It will be ok to use an 8GB card, you will just have less space if you wanted to download or store anything (apps, games, movies, etc).
Cards up to 128GB have so far been verified as working.
Ok, I understand. But I have no idé if 8GB will be enough or not today.

I have try out various brand (Samsung, SanDisk, Sony, Monster, Wintech, Toshiba, Kingston, Patriot, PNY and Transcend ) and capacity (4G - 128G, mostly class 10 and also try out class 6) microSD card, all works well.
So far only encounter issue with this one: Patriot EP series 16GB microSD.

Have you done any performance testing to see how the different disks transfer vs their claimed transfer rates? I'm thinking about getting this card for an android tablet built with the playbox enclosure... http://www.amazon.com/SanDisk-microSDXC-...l_huc_item

Just popped up on reddit

Samsung Evo cards are a bit scarce in Australia and I was wondering if anyone has tried the Kingston class 10 UHS-I cards? I know it mentioned that the pine64 can't benefit from the UHS speeds but it can still go as fast as non UHS cards am I correct in assuming so? Reason i'm selecting this card is that its pretty cheap here (about 6usd for a 16gb card) and it would be good if performance wise it will be one of the faster ones out there
I am using a Sandisk Ultra 32GB and it works great... $11-15 on Amazon
