I ended up getting a 64GB Samsung EVO+ for my pine, due in part to this article.

http://thewirecutter.com/reviews/best-microsd-card/

Mostly, because I plan to use my pine as a tablet, I was interested in the higher random read/write speeds. The article was worth the read imo.

Performance of cards varies widely for random io, but most advertising is for sequential speed.

Samsung EVO is what I have in my Raspberry Pi after lots of research.

I have several Samsung EVO and EVO+ with different memory configuration (16G to 128G) in my lab and all works well.

Here are some of my tests on the Pi and Pi2:

You can trawl the entire thread, but I don't think you'll find a card that beats the EVO.

Not all class 10 SD cards are equivalent.  SD cards are optimized for sequential read/write from cameras.

Here's the best resource I've found benchmarking micro sd cards for SBC use:

So, another vote for Samsung EVO.  They work really well in my RaspberryPis and they're not even that expensive.

I just purchased 5 pieces an hour ago and needs promo code to get this price. Here is my additional promo code: 3711579 but only can use one time.

I'm not in the states so won't be able to pick this up. Will be grateful if anyone can help me grab 2 or 3 of these and mail them over to me? Big Grin

Hi, I wonder if it will be ok to use a 8GB or do you recommend 16GB instead?

It will be ok to use an 8GB card, you will just have less space if you wanted to download or store anything (apps, games, movies, etc).

Cards up to 128GB have so far been verified as working.
