I downloaded the stretch desktop img and tested yesterday, usb3.0 and gigalan works out of the box.

The link on download page vanishes today, but you can still find it https://dl.armbian.com/

Have fun

Any feedback on performance and stability. Not getting great throughput via USB3 Portable HDD across my LAN (about 40Mbps), not matter NTFS or EXT4. Thanks

wow, number 33 on the most frequently downloaded images with a total of 10 downloads. this is a real decent sleeper.

@dkryder
What you expect from a silent candidate at "testing" stage?

I've tried Armbian_5.41_Rock64_Ubuntu_xenial_default_4.4.115 and it's working stable except the fact it's flooding dmesg with the 'eth1 resetting loop' issue (the same as here: https://github.com/ayufan-rock64/linux-build/issues/121). I don't know if it affects the device performance or stability in any way.

The rock64 is there on the main downloads page, you just have to look under the Work in progress section because... well, as far as the Armbian guys are concerned, the image is still a work in progress and still needs a lot of testing before they consider it stable!

Nice to see you online pfeerick. Any particular reason why Armbian decided for Stretch Desktop?
As a side-note, Chromium (and Firefox) work much better in LXDE and MPV isn't really usable for playback right now on the Armbian image.

Can you provide some inside why LXDE would be (much) better? It doesn't make any sense but anything is possible.

mpv and video playback is another story.

I can offer a guess: more lightweight + different compositing.

Just find that it is on the "real" (instead of working-on-to-be) supported list.
Version is 4.4.124, earlier than the 4.4.126 that I found problem before. I have not tested yet. Hope that is more stable (against kernel compile).
Have Fun.
