It looks like the "Android Image Release 20160216" from this page is *not* rooted.
http://wiki.pine64.org/index.php/Pine_A6...re_Release Any easy way to root it? I can't seem to get adb wireless on it, may try via USB here soon.
Please try "towelroot" to root your device, but I think it will not work.
- https://towelroot.com/ (or directlink) ---------- You can even try "Kingoroot" / "Kingoapp" as another possibility. - https://www.kingoapp.com/ - [VIDEO] Root ANY Android Device 5.1.1, 5.1, 5.0.2, 4.4, 4.3 4.2.2 Lollipop KitKat JellyBean One Click 2015 | YouTube.com I was able to remove Kingoroot app and their bloatware with a few tricks to replace it with SuperSU. - How to Remove/Replace Kingroot (KingUser) with SuperSu - W0lfDroid But the easiest way to replace Kingoroot with SuperSU was the following app (for 4.36 Euro): - Super-Sume-Pro – Android-Apps auf Google Play ---------- KingoApp has also installed a few strange apps, so, I advise you to try the following software, it's called Framaroot and it's really popular: - [ROOT] Framaroot, a one-click apk to root some devices | XDA-Developers.com That's just a "try & error" game... Good luck!

Maybe I've misunderstood something but will we be able to use Google Play Store, Netflix, Spotify, (other "DRM sensitive" apps) with a rooted device?
I was under the impression that a lot of apps from the Play Store will not run properly if you have a rooted device. It could be that the rooted devices that I've used in the past have been cheap noname tablets with limited support for Google Play and maybe those were not on some sort of "allowed/supported devices" list? So my main concern is probably wether there would be a benefit to have an image which is NOT rooted in certain circumstances or if rooted is "always better"? |
